  1. Man i just wish they would tell us when theyre doing this instead of having me refresh the youtube page every 5 seconds between 1 and 2 everyday
  2. No cloning I literally took this drive from the last computer and put in in the new one.
  3. I've already tried that so far literally nothing has allowed me to select this drive as a boot drive.
  4. I recently bought an ASUS Z390 E GAMING Mobo and an I7-9700k. Everything detects fine in bios but I can't for the life of me get this PC to boot. The SSD is a Samsung 970 EVO 500GB and it already has a windows installation on it from my last PC. I would like to avoid doing a clean install if possible, please.
  5. Windows 10 Home 10.0.16299 Build 16299 and I believe it is the downloaded version of Office 365 that is provided by my school
  6. Basically, I was given for a gift for school an HP Laptop from Wal-Mart and on paper, it has pretty good specs for a college students laptop, i7-7500u, 12gb ram, 1tb HDD, a and all the i/o I could ever need. Unfortunately the laptop since the week I got it has never really worked as well as those specs should have. Examples of this would be when I'm writing papers word crashes very frequently and makes me lose some progress from time to time or the fact just doing basic windows tasks is usually incredibly slow, slower than I think a 5400 rpm hard drive should be. Basically I was wondering if doing a fresh windows install from a USB stick I have would be a good idea and in turn getting rid of the million hp bloatware they provide or if the only real way I'm gonna get any sort of performance boost is with an upgrade to an SSD. 7. alright gotcha don't use oven method putting it on a post-it note
  8. I was thinking of using the oven method but only if it I cant get it to work by any other means since I've never done it before I'd hate to fuck it up somehow even worse. I'll just take the time to clean it as best I can while I wait I suppose
  9. My friend gave me his Gigabyte GTX 1070 and told me I can keep it since it broke (he spilled orange juice over his computer and built a new one already). I took it home, took it apart, and cleaned it with 91% Isopropyl Alcohol and it seems to only have gotten on the back side of the board (no backplate) its been a few months since it happened and when we tested it before cleaning it wasn't working but one of the LED indicators lit up so we had hope. If anyone has advice for this it would help! Also, I don't have any new thermal paste at the moment to try the card after I've cleaned it and was wondering if it would be okay for me to test the card just for posting without any or if I should just wait 2 days for Amazon to mail me some.
  10. Okay so I have an LG 49 Inch 4k TV (49UJ6200) and next to it in my room is my PC. Before I got this new TV I had an old 1080p VIZIO that I was able to hook my computer up to just by switching the HDMI cord from my monitor to my TV and it always worked fine. Ive only gotten this to work on my new tv a few times on rare occasion and only on HDMI 2 ARC for some reason. I was in the middle of trying to play a game on the TV so i could play it on my bed with the controller but it cut out on me and ive been trying to figure out why. Now everytime my i hook up my computer to my TV it freezes and blue screens like in the picture attached or if i try booting into it no screens come on what so ever not even on my second monitor. The only time since it cut out that ive been able to get output to the TV was when i had no monitors plugged in just the TV and for a few seconds my ASUS boot screen came up and then after that it disappeared and went back to no signal. I cant really find any solid help from previous forum posts scattered around and I'd like to play this game sitting on the bed with a controller so if anyone could help me out id appreciate it.
