Hi guy I am looking to buy a i3 8350k. Someone on is selling an i3 8350k delided 5ghz. I am considering purchasing it but I have limited knowledge on intel overlooking. I have asked thee seller a few question and here is the response.
Item description
This processor has been delidded using Conductonaut liquid metal. I have been running it at 5Ghz Core and 4.8GHz Uncore, on 1.39 volts (VCORE) with no AVX offset, and using Trident Z 3600MHz 16-16-16-36 Ram. Using a Corsair H110i v2, temps never exceeded 60 degrees Celsius. Motherboard is MSI Z370-m Gaming, Seasonic 620w power supply and EVGA GTX 1080ti hybrid graphics card. Take a look at the Userbenchmark score in the attached photo, it absolutely destroys the competition as it's currently ranked in 9th place out of all the 8350k benchmarks! I'm selling because I just received my 8700k, but I will say that I can't tell a difference between the two (I mostly just game at 3440x1440). Fast and Free 2-Day priority mail shipping!!
question I aske
Have you sealed the CPU back to the pcb? Which sealant have you used?
Also have you used the CPU since you delided it? It's there anything wrong?
There answer
Hey,I used rtv high-heat black (100%) silicon, just like the stock chip uses. Aside from a huge drop in temps the chip looks exactly like it did when I received it new. I used the chip for about two weeks while waiting for my 8700k to arrive, so yes, I have used it after delidding. I ran the chip at 5.0GHz the entire time at 1.39 volts, no AVX offset, 4.8 GHz on the cache and XMP enabled. During gaming, my temps stayed around 50C, while stress testing/benchmarking had peaks at 67C but mostly averaged around 60C or so.
2 question I asked
How long did you stress test the CPU for? Using what software? And how generous have you been with the silicon adhesive? Low medium or high? Or just the amount the stock came with?
there answer
Very little adhesive, just enough to hold it down and make it look like it did stock. It's a perfect delidding, I can promise you that thermal limits will not be reached. The stress testing I only ran for an hour with Intel XTU CPU and memory tests. The reason for such a short test is because: 1. I never planned on selling it. 2. I'm in school and need my computer everyday (can't do 24h testing right now). 3. I didn't plan on keeping it at that voltage since I was able to run it at 4.8 at such a low voltage. Also, my motherboard has a wicked Vdroop at anything above 1.3v and I don't like using too much LLC.
can someone please guide on if I should consider buying this CPU or buy a new one? I live in Australia and new 8350k here is 250 this one will be shipped from USA and if I win it, should be around 250 too. Any other question to ask?
