  1. Alright. Anyone have any idea how quickly the 8700k's will sell when they get restocked? And if you have any tips for snagging one before they sell out?
  2. Firstly apologies because im sure this question has been asked here a bunch, but I was wondering weather Its worth waiting for the i7-8700k or if I should just go with the 7700k This would be the system: PCPartPicker part list / Price breakdown by merchant CPU: Intel - Core i7-7700K 4.2GHz Quad-Core Processor ($445.00 @ Shopping Express) CPU Cooler: Corsair - H100i v2 70.7 CFM Liquid CPU Cooler ($139.00 @ PLE Computers) Motherboard: Asus - STRIX Z270-E GAMING ATX LGA1151 Motherboard ($287.00 @ Shopping Express) Memory: Corsair - Vengeance LPX 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR4-3000 Memory ($249.00 @ Mwave Australia) Storage: Samsung - 850 EVO-Series 500GB 2.5" Solid State Drive ($209.00 @ Shopping Express) Video Card: Asus - GeForce GTX 1080 Ti 11GB STRIX GAMING Video Card ($1149.00 @ Shopping Express) Case: NZXT - S340 Elite (Black) ATX Mid Tower Case ($145.50 @ Skycomp Technology) Power Supply: Corsair - RMx 650W 80+ Gold Certified Fully-Modular ATX Power Supply ($154.00 @ Shopping Express) Operating System: Microsoft - Windows 10 Home Full 32/64-bit ($139.00 @ Shopping Express) Total: $2916.50 Prices include shipping, taxes, and discounts when available Generated by PCPartPicker 2017-10-28 17:38 AEDT+1100 PCCG wishlist for 7700k: https://www.pccasegear.com/wish_lists/763867 PCCG wishlist for 8700k: https://www.pccasegear.com/wish_lists/758787/8700k Build The system is pretty much just for gaming. So yea, pccg are expecting more shipments in early November, so I was wondering what the likelihood of me being able to grab one is? Whether they'll sell out instantly and if I should just go with the 7700k and save the $181 AUD.
  3. Quite refreshing compared to most of the stuff coming out these days. And I couldn't forget this.
  4. Hello, not sure if this is the right place to post this but I was wondering whether wiping my 4 year old HDD (https://www.mwave.com.au/product/seagate-st2000dm006-2tb-barracuda-35-7200rpm-sata3-desktop-hard-drive-ab85968?gclid=Cj0KCQjwybvPBRDBARIsAA7T2kgOnjJR6YGXtnN-UkjHnG5n24DNTcVHsvZygbfVQ4Ej9KoBogGy__AaAslYEALw_wcB) would be fine to use in a new system, I also have a 250gb ssd and a 500gb ssd for games, the OS and such so the HDD would just be for basic mass storage. So yea, essentially just want to know if 4 years of use is just not worth keeping. Thanks
  5. Not sure If replying here is a good place to ask this but: Should I hold off a bit on building this considering the 1070ti has pretty much been confirmed at this point? Sorry that im a bit of a noob, but yea. Basically wondering if a 1080ti would become cheaper in the near future because of the 1070ti. Thanks.
  6. Looking like I'll switch to 3k
  7. Thanks, any particular reason for the GPU change? And would losing the RAID 0 setup with my OS on it be detrimental to my PC, i.e. Would it just mean re-installing the OS and anything on my SSD's or would all data be buggered. (Apologies if this doesn't make sense, haven't really rapped my head around the intricacies of PC's yet)
  8. Ahoyhoy, just wondering what you guys think of this for a build: PCPartPicker part list / Price breakdown by merchant CPU: Intel - Core i7-8700K 3.7GHz 6-Core Processor ($549.00 @ Umart) CPU Cooler: Corsair - H100i 77.0 CFM Liquid CPU Cooler ($153.50 @ Umart) Motherboard: Asus - ROG STRIX Z370-F GAMING ATX LGA1151 Motherboard ($293.00 @ Shopping Express) Memory: Corsair - Vengeance LPX 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR4-2133 Memory ($219.00 @ Scorptec) Storage: Samsung - 850 EVO-Series 250GB 2.5" Solid State Drive ($124.00 @ Shopping Express) Storage: Seagate - Barracuda 2TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive ($87.00 @ Shopping Express) Video Card: Asus - GeForce GTX 1080 Ti 11GB STRIX GAMING Video Card ($1323.30 @ Skycomp Technology) Case: NZXT - S340 Elite (Black) ATX Mid Tower Case ($146.50 @ Skycomp Technology) Power Supply: Corsair - RMx 650W 80+ Gold Certified Fully-Modular ATX Power Supply ($154.00 @ Shopping Express) Operating System: Microsoft - Windows 10 Home Full 32/64-bit ($135.00 @ Shopping Express) Total: $3184.30 Prices include shipping, taxes, and discounts when available Generated by PCPartPicker 2017-10-23 03:58 AEDT+1100 A list of exact things I plan to buy: https://www.pccasegear.com/wish_lists/758787/New Build I also plan on using a 250GB SSD from my old pc (same as the other SSD in this build https://www.pccasegear.com/products/30448/samsung-850-evo-250gb-ssd) and putting it in RAID 0 with the other SSD for 500GB of storage which Im hoping to put the OS as well as most games on. (Mainly asking if i've understood RAID 0 correctly, and weather putting my OS on it is a good idea.) I think that's all I want to know for now, Thanks in advance
