  1. Hello community, I am building a new office/working pc for about ~800€, could you help me with picking the parts? It should be fast while running programs like Photoshop, VMware, common office programs like Word, Excel, and Internet Browsers. Gaming capability not required, but should be able to drive 3 1080p screens. It should also be very stable and reliable as it is being used for work, so I am not thinking about overclocking. Thank you in advance =)
  2. Hi, I am using a ASrock z68 motherboard. After reinstalling Windows I cannot boot into the UEFI by pressing DEL/F2 when I power on my PC. The screen will turn black and stay black. However, I am able to enter the boot selection part of the UEFI by pressing F11. (can still start windows 7, but just cant enter uefi) Does anyone know the solution to this problem? Ty in advance.
  3. hi, so alot of the pc cases (non matx) out there look very similar and have almost the same interior layout (motherboard upper left, psu lower left, optical drive upper right and hdd cages lower right). my question is, are there any "special" cases that differentiate in an aesthatic way themself alot from others? preferably with side window so you can actually see that it is special. i only know some silverstone ones with rotated motherboard mounting, but are there any other cases with speciality?
  4. I am not even sure if it is really coil whine, could also be something else because the sound is not exactly high pinched. Any solutions other than straightout replacing the GPU? Could it also be related to poor output filtering of the PSU? The one I am using is not high end.
  5. Thx for most generic and useless answer, shouldervalley. Its not mainly the fans that is causing the problem, the coil whining is. I cant put my finger into the power supply, and the gpu seems to hurt. No solutions for coil whining?
  6. Hello, my pc for some reason is really loud, even when on idle. Aside from the most obvious noise coming from the fans (cpu- and rear chassis-), it also seems that the fan motors themself, the air that is passing through the chassis and the heatsink and the psu are causing lots of noise. It is also possible that the psu has some kind of defect, I am sometimes hearing a relativly low repeating deeper "beep" sound which I cannot locate. It resembels vibration-sounds, although when I open the case while it is running and touch every piece of hardware, I can only feel (big) vibrations on my HDD (which as a WD green is not supposed to, I guess). However, it is also possible that my GPU is for some reason making the low "pulsating" noise. Also, for some reason my half-modular psu only has a 4-pin power connector to the top of motherboard, which has a 8 pin for the cpu power (4 pin plugged into 8 pin). Is that ok? Or should I put a 8-pin in for the CPU? Could you help me identify what is making that wierd pulsating beeping noise? What would you advice me to do to make my pc generally more silent? The noise it is outputting is obnoxious. My specs are: CPU: Intel Core i7-2600K GPU: ASUS ENGTX570 MB: ASRock Z68 Pro3 (B3) PSU: be quiet! STRAIGHT POWER CM BQT E8-CM-580W Case: FRACTAL DESIGN DEFINE R3 (using the 2 included case fans hardmounted) CPU-Cooler: Scythe Mugen 2 Rev. B I have read in some threads on the forums about buying "premium silent" fans/cpu coolers. Since I already have an aftermarket cpu cooler, I don't know what kind of improvement I will get. Thank you very much.
  7. Hi, the new HDD happens to be a WD one. I used their Acronis True Image to make a full clone without removing the bootability. However: I am not able to boot up Windows with the new HDD after unplugging the old HDD. Why is this? The new one should be exactly same as the old one. (And it also has the same files on it when viewing it in Windows, just under other Volume Letter). Could it be that the old drive is F and the new drive is G to windows (although I never set up a volume letter) and since Windows is trying to get data from F the data is not there anymore?
  8. Hi, assuming I would buy a new HDD I would have to move all files, redirects etc. from the old HDD to the new one so everything stays same with the same datastructure. Does anyone know a software capable of doing this? The desired result should consist in me simply pluging the old HDD out and a the new HDD in and nothing would change for the software. Reason for this is because I have several data redirections between my HDDs and a portion of windows data is also stored on the to be replaced HDD: I am thankful for any recommendations. I did find some freeware but they have unfortunate speed limitations.
  9. sorry, here the spec and picture CPU Intel Core i7 2600K @ 3.40GHz 32 °C Sandy Bridge 32nm Technology RAM 8,00GB Dual-Channel DDR3 @ 665MHz (9-9-9-24) Motherboard ASRock Z68 Pro3 (CPUSocket) 28 °C Graphics W2042 (1680x1050@60Hz) Intel HD Graphics Family (ASRock) 1279MB NVIDIA GeForce GTX 570 (ASUStek Computer Inc) 29 °C Storage 119GB M4-CT128M4SSD2 ATA Device (SSD) 931GB SAMSUNG HD103SJ ATA Device (SATA) 26 °C and its a mugen 2 not 3 sorry case is fractal design r3 (cant really fit alot of cabel on the back side beside gpu power, big motherboard cable and small motherboard cable).
  10. hi, i am using a i7 2600k. it is very loud and there are alot of vibrations on the case (though i am not sure which component is producing the most noise and vibrations, the rear exhaust fan and cpu fan are both very loud and hardmounted onto the case). currently i am using a sycthe mugen 3 rev. b heatsink + stockcoolers and stock chassis fans from my case. can you recommend me some solutions to lower the noise and vibrations? as far as i can evaluate a big portion of the noise is coming from the air itself that is being pressed through the case. the gpu itself is making little to no noise at all on idle (rest still makes alot of noise). which fans should i upgrade? would i get a big noise reduction and vibration cancellation if i only change the fans, or should i also switch out the heatsink? also, what temperatures are healthy for the cpu?
  11. ok but why is my cpu at 3.7ghz? isnt it supposed to be at 3.4ghz? i did not change anything in the bios. my gpu driver is even newer
  12. hi, what is the main reason for these big differences on the same (main) hardware? i have an older pc and ran a benchmark today, and saw that someone with similiar hardware almost tripples the score my pc can achieve. http://www.3dmark.com/3dm11/7735399 http://www.3dmark.com/3dm11/7345270 is it all due to cpu overclocking? what is meant by "maximum turbo core clock"? the speed seems to be higher than stock clock, but i did not set my system to overclock. is it done automatically by 3dmark?
  13. ok so unfortunately its just for airflow and not weight support but are there some good solutions to fix bending gpus? i know people tend to say that it is "normal" but it is ugly and there has to be a good solution
  14. I discovered this video You can see that he somehow has a sort of cage at the end of the GPU what kind of sorcery is this? where can i get this kind of weight support for my gpu? is it a weight support at all?is it a cage specific thing? are there any other quality solutions for heavy bending gpus? (not talking about building a lego tower underneath it or binding the gpu with strings)
