  1. Swap the cooler to a noctua or larger Corsair and buy a x5675 xeon 6 cores over clock to 4ghz and enjoy it's what i'm running. i upgraded from an I7-920. I run at 4.1ghz limit is my tuniq tower and 1333 ecc memory. very stable setup. As suggested a used 970 or 780 would be a good upgrade. new power supplies come with 7-10y warranties so unless it's showing signs don't worry about.
  2. My 5675 is sitting at 4.1Ghz on air staying under 60c. old but still a decent piece if you already have it. Cinebench score of 888 compared to 767 with my 4.5ghz 4820k
  3. Decided my old I7-950 needed some updates. $40 ebay Xeon x5675, scavenged 24gig of Samsung DDR3 1333 ECC server memory. (free) Couple hours of testing and playing 4ghz offset Voltage max at 1.21v on all 6 cores with a max CPU temp of 62c on air with my old Tuniq tower Extreme. Waiting for my new case a Corsair Obsidian 750D AF to try any higher. The motherboard needs more cooling. Yes i am using a screwdriver as a power switch. Old case and old parts are paying for the new case so i only have $40 total into the upgrade. I work primarily with servers so I haven't over clocked a CPU since my old Q6600 and phenom x2 955 days. What is the normal ghz for a 1366 on air? Anything i should be weary of? Thanks
  4. X58 is still a good platform if you own it.
  5. i figured. i was hoping i could find a starting price. thanks
  6. I have owned mine for a while and never finished my water setup and plan to move to a better air case. But here is my question what is the going price for a tj07 used. Their are none on ebay to compare it too. I'm am getting a Cosair obsidian 750d Haf to replace it. Thanks
  7. Your running into the same issue i was. I am running a TJ07 which is a beautiful case but i am no longer water cooling so i need more air, I picked the Corsair obsidian 750D high air flow. The only check mark it doesn't do is the PSU cover. which would put you in corsair 900d territory .
