  1. Well ive chosen to make sure the mem controller is at 98-100% all the time by underclocking memory to get stable around 40mh/s and when the DAG swift comes it goes to max 45. Rather den getting stable 37mh/s with DAG swifts of 50. it would be sweet if the pill could make it so it was stable 50mh/s But i suppose thats a dream
  2. It might mean that. I honestly dont know. The only thing i know is that nicehash has thus far made the quickminer for only daggerhashimoto. And that dag swift, for half a minute makes so i get to see those 50mh/s. But idk if thats the pill or not. Because i would guess if the pill worked it would be a more constant effect. Not randomly getting half a minute with god speed.
  3. As i know it, Nicehash Quickminer is only capable of using daggerhashimoto atleast currently. And the only time the pill seems to be doing anything is, if i havent made sure that mem controller load is at 99-100%, then sometimes the Excavator will report something like "Cuda-daggerhashimoto device 0# quick-swap DAG to xxxxxx." it happends extremely randomly. However when that happends, it seems like no matter what overclock i have ( ive seen it with +750 mem +120 core, 65%) then it will push the mem controller to 100%. I suppose thats the pill? because with the overclock i mentioned when the "DAG swap" happends, at those times i have seen those insane +50mh/s... But it ONLY works for a few seconds.
  4. i do use quickminer. And the Ethlarghemtpill i found as a seperate download and am running beside quickminer. But even with nicehash miner and the advanced "enable pill" option or whatever its called, it still does not seem to do a thing. And my power consumption it being reportet both in the excavator from nicehash and GPU-z at around 175 watt for the card. Effieciency as reportet in excavator is about 234,13 kh/j which idk if that is good efficiency or not
  5. It would seem the most important thing for higher mh/s for me atleast depends on the memory controller load. And trying to get mem clock as high i can without the controller load as seen in GPU-Z going under 100%-98%. After some tinkering i currently get 100-98% mem controller load, with gpu set to 70%, 110 core and -250 memory. And i get about 40-41mh/s... if any change to the overclock changes the memory controller load, i drop mh/s sooo... pill still doing nothing. So yeah, honestly i still find it wierd
  6. On that... how are one supposed to to get the pill to work. As im wirint this i have 65% +120 core and -300 mem, and i get about 39-40mh/s but i also just shut the pill down. nothing changed. i have added the pill as an exclusion on antivirus an all, but it doesnt seem to be doing anything. Not even if i raise power limit
  7. i hope a mining ralated question is ok First some background info So i have an Asus Strix 1080 ti and i have been busy with school and life in general so i thought what the hell, and i got nicehash quickminer because why not. it mines daggerhashimoto which im under the impression is for ethereum. Now a few years ago, i heard alot about the GDDR5X in the 1080ti wasnt the best for ethereum due to GDDR5x being to fast or something like that. And i have heard about "ethlargement pill" should help with that and i am using it, it only works sometimes though.. Thats the background info, so the thing is all documentation online seem to indicate i should be able to get about 44mh/s with some overclock of the memory and keeping core clock +0. I usually run 65% power limit, +120 core clock +750 memery clock and got approx 36-37mh/s... Today i looked at nicehash where it reportet that the memory controller was being utilized at 80%. Googling around i found that it should be closer to 100%... and alot of testing resulted in my currently running: power limit at 65%. Core clock + 120 and memery clock at -502 and then getting 100% memory controller utilization. and basically if i move the clock of memory at all according to GPU-z the memory load will begin to go under 100% and so on... And with that underclock of the memory and overclock of the core gives me around 39-40mh/s..... I hope my explanation makes sense... so then, can someone explain to me how overclocking works because with my experience as mentioned, i dont feel like whats happening is making ANY sense...
  8. So, ive always had some decent stereo speakers standing behind my monitor, working fine. Beside that i have an ROG Centurion headset which have a hub, which i can plug an HDMI into which allow me to plug 4 audio channels (Green, orange, black and grey) into the hub for easy switch between the headset and the speakers. One button solution ftw. However not so long ago i won an omnidirectinal speaker with build ind subwoofer, this little box with 4 speakers and the sub, which i would like to use alongside my existing stereo speakers. But if i plug the speakers into the green channel, and the box into the orange channel (as i want the box to be between the two other speakers in front of me), nothing really happens. When i test within windows own audio settings, the box works fine, it acts as a center and sub speaker. But outside that, there is no sound what so ever. This problem persists even if i plug the box and speakers into my motherboard (ROG STRIX B350.F), which also have these channels. The only way i can get it to work, for example on youtube (i want both the speakers and the box to just work, no matter what im watching), is to plug the speakers into the green channel directly on my motherboard, and the box on the front headphone jack. And i would assume i could just get an jack splitter for the headset hub and plug them both into that. But my question is then, is that necessary or is there some way to make this box just work alongside the speakers, in the orange channel on the hub? i cant seem to find any setting that will make it so they both would work, but i might have overlooked something. Any tips for an audio newbie?
  9. it, however seems to be stable at 73 Celsius as im writing this. with the CPU running a little cooler... it will never run 24/7 but like, imagine sitting at school doing a paper, which does not use the gpu anyway. thinking about turning it on in situations like that. or while doing online work. As, i hope its obvious im totally new at mining. My reasoning is, the laptop will not be used on a daily basis, ill never let it run over night, id think 73C is a safe temperature? compared to hours long gaming sessions. Which is why i wanted to get a cooling plate/dockin station with fans But despite all that, ITS STILL a bad idea? ive been doing it for a few days now, as i said. should i stop before i get to deep even though in my eyes it seems safe
  10. reason im thinking using it to mine, is, its not going to be used, on a daily basis. as is said, for school and travel, so m thought was, running it in the background with additionel fans under it
  11. So i bought a ASUS ROG G752VS awhile back for school and gaming laptop when i travel to my parents. And my dad jokingly said he wanted a Bitcoin for christmass... funny eh? Well anyway i decided to show him how to mine using nicehash and all that. But my question is, how do i negate the consequences of, my gpu running at 100% for hours? its an GTX 1070. For now i just have a docking station with a few fans under my laptop, but is that enough? On my desktop i think i will be able to limit the GPU usage, by, putting a limit to the temperature, within MSI Afterburner or something like that, but that is not possible on this laptop for some reason (even though it came with Asus gaming center which allow me to overclock det GPU)
  12. So, black friday is coming up, and ive decided to get a gaming laptop for use while travelling to family during the holidays. And ive found a laptop from Asus which contain 8 GB DDR4 SO DIMM 260-PIN 2400 MHz, and an empty ram slot. So i though of adding another 8 GB og 2400 MHz ram. So my question is, does anyone know, if what i was thinking about is a bad idea? i dont know which brand ram the laptop has, so is it safe to just add another module with the same specs, 8gb, 2400mhz, with no regard to which brand it is? could i for example take an 8 GB DDR4 SO DIMM 260-PIN 2400 MHz ram module from corsair in one ram slot and just add an 8 GB DDR4 SO DIMM 260-PIN 2400 MHz, module from Crucial or any other brand in the second ram slot, and expect same performance as i if i decidere to get an 16GB kit instead?
  13. A few months ago i bought a new desktop pc, but i didnt upgrade my display, which i kinda feel like i should. And i´ve been looking at a few different displays already, and wanted to hear if anyone had any experience with these when it comes to gaming My current display is an 1920x1080 144hz display, and my GPU is an Asus Strix 1080ti. So the displays i´ve been looking at, all have gsync, as i´ve heard it should be awesome, i just cant decide on which resolution i should get. I´ve been looking at a: 4k display 60hz display with gsync 3440x1440 with bestween 60 to 100hz, with gsync and as a last option 2560x1440 with up to 165hz So out of these 3 types of displays, when it comes to gaming is best? because, i´ve read that gsync has problems running at win10, and that 4k displays, despite gsync still stutter, due to the 60hz limit or something. i dont know what to believe so any experiences?
