  1. When one is interesting in a product, they should first identify the metrics they wish to prioritize. These are my metrics: IPS 144hz 27" Displayport freesync IPS & Displayport - for photo editing 144hz - to mitigate ocular migraines. Added, metrics to narrow the search 27" and freesync Freesync cost less than Gsync and for photo editing, I figure why spend the extra money. Interesting my search came down to three monitors. Which one is the best? Acer XF270HU, IPS $600, 27" (2560 x 1440) 144 Hz DisplayPort AMD FreeSync $520 https://www.acer.com/ac/en/US/content/model/UM.HX0AA.A02 ASUS MG279Q Gaming Monitor - 27" 2K WQHD (2560 x 1440), IPS, up to 144Hz, FreeSync. $537 https://www.asus.com/us/Monitors/MG279Q/specifications/ AOC AG271QG 27 inch IPS 165Hz DisplayPort 2560x1440 PX G Sync $600 http://eu.aoc.com/en/gaming/products/ag271qg A fourth option was the Acer Predator XB271HU IPS 27" Display Port, 144Hz (2560x1440) NVIDIA G-SYNC, but it is $700
  2. That is good to know lilbman, I am part Neanderthal, and I am not sure what you mean by 7600K? Being that I am a little slow, I went to Asus’s website to find out if I can upgrade my CPU with my current motherboard. Asus site states, “This motherboard supports Intel® 4th generation Core™ i7/i5/i3/Pentium®/Celeron® processors in the LGA1150 package.” Supports 22nm CPU (Intel LGA 1150 Socket). I am in luck, this aligns with Vroooom’s statement. My brain is swelling, now I need find which is the best 4th Generation CPU, I can afford. Do you have any recommendations? Motherboard ASUS H81M-A and power supply is a Cool Master RS-400-PSAR-13 Unfortunately, I cannot do gaming, the motion makes my eyes hurt and I become nauseated. I have wandered down the rabbit hole. 3. Is my system adequate for the monitor? Windows 10 Home Processor: Intel Pentium CPU G3420 @ 3.20Hz RAM 8 GB
  4. I watched this video and this monitor sounds great but it is expensive. I need new monitor, my current one is old (about 15 years) and has started to trigger my ocular migraines. A person recommended that I purchase a 144Hz monitor to mitigate my migraines. I want an IPS monitor because I use Photoshop (CS5). My plan is to buy a EVGA GeForce GTX 1050 Ti GAMING, 04G-P4-6251-KR, 4GB GDDR5, ACX 2.0 graphics card. It cost more than I desire, but I also use PowerDirector 14 for video editing. I do not want to buy a graphics card more than a monitor can handle or not enough for a monitor. Two Questions: Do I get the Acer Predator XB270HU shown in the video or is there a lower cost comparable monitor? Is the graphics card mentioned the right choice for the monitor and software?
