We literally cant have any idea, since those "beings" would live and think differently to us. so radically differently that it may be impossible for us to imagine it Id say the latter, because its inevitable someone develops a real AI one day. being prepared for that is good. (eg we dont want the Geth situation )

orion really doesnt irradiate much, since the nuke detonates. detonated nukes dont irradiate nearly as much as leaking reactors. maybe like 20 years of increased radiation. (eg hiroshima and nagasaki were rebuilt soon after the war)

gunpowder produces oxygen when burning ;) and no you dont need oxygen to burn, but its one of the more common elements to use

fun fact, some scientists of the 18th century (the big names) actually did have a plan for a rocket to the moon, based on gunpowder engines. calculated the required dV and everything

well depending on the amount of gunpowder and how you seal it. becuase gunpowder is a slow explosive, it has pushing power, but it is bad at tearing stuff apart. so you need a really good seal or tis just going to be a rocket engine basically xD

naah, grenades use nitrous based explosives, with metal pellets around it, then usually a plastic or thin metal layer protecting it

not on consumer chips. but in our lab we had a silicon transitor array that we clocked up to 25.34GHz (well some team doing CS work did it, not me)

i do have access to a cooler that goes down to -250C(ish, its actually rated for 30K) so we could use that
