Yeah, I was just getting a good laugh out of that thread.

Can you explain WTF was being contested in that thread?

I seriously don't know that much about graphics processors and the different kinds of work load ratings. The only thing I care about right now is that it can run my games. Lol.

Shakaza the sheer amount of likes i got led me to believe that yes

Devilishthing just the fact the moron would not realise this card isnt made for crunching numbers accurately, but rather crunching them fast, even if they are off by a 1/1000th sometimes

  7. Shakaza

    Shakaza

Well, I DID like your posts. :I

I mean that I experienced the emotion of liking them, not what you already knew.

Anyway, I'm kind of confused by what he is trying to say. Why is he so focused on Kepler if the thread is about the new Maxwell Tesla cards? And why is he focusing on compute if these new cards are being advertised for a different use case? I find comfort in your and Patrick's posts, since they tend to make sense.

  8. LukaP

    LukaP

well he is as i sid, an utter moronic waste of good air. just came there to shit on Maxwell

    Oooooh. Gotcha.

Yeah, a common thing I see is people getting hung up on hard numbers and not being able to accept the fact that certain products are made for certain applications.

Like, I don't know much about graphics card, but I at least know enough to know that if you want uber precise calculations you don't go with an R7 270...

  10. LukaP

    LukaP

its ok to go with a 270 if you want it precise, it can do that, but it wont be as fast as a Titan X. this was more akin to knowing you dont use a CPU to do graphics processing, and a GPU to run a single threaded game like LOL

  11. DevilishBooster

    DevilishBooster

Oh, well there, I just proved that I don't really know jack about graphics cards since I thought a 270 wouldn't be a good computing card. Lol

  12. LukaP

    LukaP

oh its not xD its slow as balls. but it will do it equally well as a Titan or a Tesla, given infinite time :)

  13. DevilishBooster

    DevilishBooster

In all seriousness, where should I look to learn more about graphics cards?

  14. GodSpoon

    GodSpoon

He doesn't mean it will be a good card for it :D, he means it would be as accurate as a Titan, but would be far slower than one at actually completing calculations

  15. GodSpoon

    GodSpoon

Oh sorry, you already explained that haha

It's a shame...Prysin has made good posts in the past, and I always feel some sort of loss when people add others to their ignore lists...it makes me sad. D: Ah well. Have a good sleep, by the way.

you can PM me for specific things, otherwise just reading good review sites taht focus on stuff like this (anandtech, pcper) will slowly help you understand it :)

  18. LukaP

    LukaP

thanks. well i dont really care, its his loss. I dont post for the sake of posting it, i post so people can learn about things. this way he does not.

And that just makes it even more sad to me. User input, even if it is abrasive or outright insulting can almost always be gained from. It just seems like a childish, knee-jerk reaction to just block someone for saying something mean. That counts doubly for someone smart like you, because anger always has a coherent reason behind it for intelligent people. It is incited, not a base personality trait. But whatever. As you said, it's his loss.

*almost always. Sorry, but I needed to correct that.
