  1. Is it easy to split the HD? Do you have to fiddle around with Primocache more because of this?
  2. With that setup where would I put Linux? Also what is a practical amount in GBs for an SSD cache on a 1 TB HDD?
  3. Thanks, should I go for a cheap low-capacity SSD then like a 128 GB one for the Linux boot drive. Or would Linux need more than that?

  5. I have a z370 motherboard that has Optane support with a 500 GB SSD for my boot drive. First, is it better to buy for a secondary storage drive a hybrid SSHD or a normal HDD with a later purchase of Optane? Here are my options for storage setups: One option for storage setup is a HDD/hybrid SSHD with two partitions, one for Linux and another for Game and file storage. Is it possible to accelerate both partitions with Optane? The second option is moving all my files to the HDD with Optane/hybrid SSHD and having the SSD Dual Boot Windows 10 and Linux. What would be the best option for my use case? Thanks ahead of time!
  6. Sorry the link did not post here is the link to my build so far: My build
  7. Here is what I have planned out so far. 1. Budget & Location I live in the US and am looking for something around the $950 mark. 2. Aim I want to use this PC for Computer Programming, recent 3D Games, and emulators. Maybe some video editing in the future. 3. Monitors I have one montior right now that is 900p I hope to move to two 1080p monitors in the future. They will be 16:9. 4. Peripherals I will need to have windows which is already listed in the part's list. 5. Why are you upgrading? I am running a laptop with an i5 2450m and defintely need something stronger for the programming I am doing and my interest in new games that are coming out.
  8. I'm thinking about building my computer the end of this month. (I'll have enough funds) Is that too early to get the PSU? Or is this too good of a deal to pass up?
  9. Yep, that sounds really good! Thanks for the help! Is that deal time limited?
  10. Corsair - CX (2017) 550W 80+ Bronze Certified ATX Power Supply VS Corsair - CXM (2015) 450W 80+ Bronze Certified Semi-Modular ATX Power Supply
  11. I have need advice on what power supply I should get. I have a i7 8700k and will get a EVGA 1060 3GB. Should I go for a non-modular 550 Watt PSU or a semi-modular 450 Watt PSU? I may want to overclock the 8700k in the future. Thanks.
  12. Sorry, you are totally right! I am thinking about this gtx 1060 3 GB from EVGA: https://pcpartpicker.com/product/HWtWGX/evga-geforce-gtx-1060-3gb-gaming-video-card-03g-p4-6160 However, I would not be against having extra room for upgrades down the line!
