  1. Long time lurker, first post. Linus tech tips is a fairly large enterprise. What you need is a SOC. A security operations center, where things like SIEMs are setup to manage all the alerts raised by all the security devices. In modern Cybersec, we use several different kinds of systems that raise several different kinds of alerts. The issue with that approach is that there is just too many alerts being raised across the enterprise, which is why we use a SIEM like Logstash or Wazuh. They keep all the alerts in one place which can be then triaged. The triage process needs to happen and must be done by a SOC analyst. In modern day large multinational banks we see SOCs with over 200 internal employees. Let me know if you need ANY help setting up proper security measures around your enterprise.
  2. I say that linus should make a video on the pc requirements for FL studio and Ableton
  3. There is a huge community out there of electronic music producers, who frankly havent the faintest idea what specs they require for their music production needs.
  4. I can not go with a 13 inch laptop, I need atleast a six core cpu while producing music.
  5. Hey, Im trying to finalize on a setup for college. My top options include a dell xps 15 with an external gpu (Probably an rx580) and a ASUS ROG Zephyrus s. I only need my laptop for about 1-2 classes only, I will be using a tablet rest of the time. I produce music and hence only NEED a stronger cpu, however I do game (Expect AAA titles) and am expecting to be playing alot of lan parties. I have a gaming laptop and a desktop, so I am not unknown to the short battery life life. Suggest which one you guys thinks makes more sense and why. Also, would love to hear personal experiences of people with those devices.
  6. I use FL studio as my daw and then I use plugins like sylenth 1, serum, spire and other vsts. I also use two different sound cards, two Dj sets(one needs two usbs) and then a midi controller, along with two hdmi outs and keyboard mouse and orbweaver chroma. I will be playing some light games like paladins and PUBG. My limiting factor currently is my cpu, my projects usually use about all the ram it can use. i chose the i7 7800x because it has support for more ram, and in the future to upgrade I can simply put in the i9 x edition. It should be cheaper later and will still be able to trade blows with intel’s i7 line up for atleast 4-5 years
  7. Hey guys, im planning on building a PC for music production. My current setup consists of a sky lake i7 laptop with 16gb Ram. This laptop can’t handle the softwares now. Should I build the PC on ryzen 1700x or should I go for the i7 8700k or 7800x.
