  1. I got a new job recently and was looking to pick up a personal laptop to play games while waiting for traffic to lighten after-hours, and during my downtime/breaks (of which we have enough that I would consider buying a laptop to pass the time). After hearing about Intel's new 8th gen mobile chips, I figured now was a good time to shop around. I was looking for something light and portable (like the Dell XPS series) but also with a decent dedicated GPU (at least a 1050). Searching around the last few weeks, however, it seems that almost every laptop I could find with a u-series CPU was accompanied with either the MX150 (which would be equivalent to a 1030 if they made it for desktops) or just integrated graphics. One exception being the new Surface Book 2, having up to a 1060 depending on the model. With that being my only option, and it just releasing (what, like this week?), I'm not quite ready to pull the trigger for now, but all the searching has me curious...are laptop makers just not pairing the mobile chips with the higher end GPUs? From what I've seen of some benchmarks, the 8th gens are performing really well compared to the last generation, to the point where they wouldn't be bottle-necking a 1050 or 1060 in games. Is it just a niche/low demand market for a 'thin-and-light' gaming laptop? Is it just not possible? I'd love to hear everyone's opinions on it
