    Lenovo Thinkcentre Fan header?

Surprisingly, not easy to find. That said, I think I found some heads that will work. I'll need to solder a bit, but shouldn't be a problem.

    Lenovo Thinkcentre Fan header?

Laptop style Molex! Thank you, I'll look into that. Now I just have to figure out which of the 2 pins on the board (not pictured) are the speaker and I'll be all set.
  3. One of these days I'll actually help someone on the forum, but today is not that day! Anyway, long story short, I am building a small form factor PC using an old Lenovo Thinkcentre m72e Tiny motherboard. I'll trying to figure out a cool solution but the 4 pin fan header is very small. What should I do, other than buying a stock fan? (Note, I could buy a broken one and solder connections to it, but I'm attempting to avoid that.)

    Upgrading my first build

Yeah, I pretty much only got this board because it had a deal with the 3 1200 and had enough for what I needed at the time. Thanks everyone for the advice.

    Upgrading my first build

The only editing I do is splicing clips together and maybe adding a simple text overlay. Nothing fancy. Alright, well, I guess I'll focus on finding a nice RX580, unless anyone has any suggestions about Nvidia cards.

    Upgrading my first build

Yeah, I figured I should have gotten the 560 when I first built it. Thanks for the advice!
  7. Hello everyone, I've been thinking about upgrading my computer pretty soon. This is roughly my current system, though the case is different. I've been using it for about a year and while I'm happy with it for my engineering classes and light video gaming, I want to upgrade it! I'm between 2 different upgrade options: CPU or GPU. For the CPU, I would get a Ryzen 5 1600. For the GPU, I would get an RX 560 (used or otherwise). I wouldn't mind getting something different for either of those, but I don't need anything better than 1080p for gaming (I have a 16x10 I game on, so I guess it's technically 1920x1200) and I edit video footage for occasional YouTube videos. Thoughts? Opinions? Questions about why I have such weird storage devices? Should I just get both? (If it changes things, I'm graduating in May and hopefully will have a job right away.) Instrument Amplifier Fix

Yup, I know that much. Since sound is more log than linear (and because I broke the pot), I'm replacing the volume with a log potentiometer. I know tone can be linear, so I don't need to replace that. My issue is I'm not sure if gain should be log or linear.
  10. Hello everyone! Alright, so I have a cheap instrument amplifier that I'm fixing up and making a new case for. It's a three knob amp, with one each of volume, tone, and gain. For some reason, they are all B100k pots. I'm already replacing the volume pot but I'm not sure about the gain. Should the gain be a linear or log (or even anti-log) pot? I think I found one post somewhere that said log, but I wanted to ask the only forum I've actually gotten help on before. Thanks everyone! (If this is the wrong place for this, let me know and I can move it over.)

    Quality Monitor for Under $150?

Hey everyone, I built a PC in January and the monitors I'm using I got from Goodwill. As fun as having 2 random monitors of different sizes are, I figure I should probably upgrade. Any good recommendations for decent monitors for decently cheap? If there was already another good thread for this, feel free to link me to that. (I feel like this could also be a good video idea like the computer case, mechanical keyboard, and mouse videos they have, though maybe not) Use case: basic home use, some gaming (max 1080p, 60fps, 4k not needed) Possible Outputs: HDMI, DVI, Display Port Budget: Under $100 is preferred but I would be willing to go up to $150. Size: I have a slightly smaller desk, so maybe max 24" diagonally. I don't need an ultra wide and I don't need any weird ratio either. Speakers: not required, though audio cable pass through would be nice. I have looked at PC Parts Picker for monitors, but I wanted opinions from tech people. You don't need to go out of your way to look up monitors, I just wanted opinions from people that might have been in a similar situation to me. Thank you.

    Windows Makefile won't be made

I have added this to my Windows path and I am still receiving the same error. I have another idea I can look at though.
  13. Hello, please someone help. I built a custom keyboard, coded it using this lovely guide: https://deskthority.net/workshop-f7/how-to-build-your-very-own-keyboard-firmware-t7177.html Everything is all well and good until I try to make the .hex Makefile. I've tried Cygwin. I've tried just using the Command Prompt. Both times I made sure I was in the correct folder. Both times I would try to use the command "make -f Makefile" as the tutorial says to. It always says that the "make" command is not found (Example: in Cygwin: "-bash: make: command not found"). I'm on Windows 10 64-bit. I would rather not try to download a Linux thing. Please help.

I found it, but what is it?

Well, I'll pick it up and see if it even works. It would definitely be a step down, but hey, eBay is a hell of a drug.

I found it, but what is it?

Just some additional photos since the mobile version is not letting me add more. And yes, my college uses Dell machines, and this is probably from one of those.
