  1. i will try ti sell now and if i cant i will just sell later
  2. by the time ryzen 4th gen comes, my r5 1600 will probs be worth almost nothing
  3. true, i'm using a 1080ti so my oc'd 1600 is becoming a bit of a bottleneck on 180hz 1080p, even on my 1440p 144hz monitor
  4. one thing I will probs have to take into consideration is that is anyone going to actually want to buy a 1600 when the 4th gen comes out, probs not, only at a very reduced price, where as 1600's are going for around $150 aud now, so basically i have to determine if the drop in price of the 3700x when 4th gen comes is equal to, less than or more than the depreciation of my 1600
  5. I'm going to upgrade to r7 3700x either now or later, i have a r5 1600 so im going to obviously sell it to take a little bit of the cost off the upgrade. Would you guys buy a 3700x now, selling the r5 1600 now, or wait until ryzen 4th gen releases and buy a 3700x then when it inevitably undergoes a price cut, however my r5 1600 will be worth even less. So what would you guys do with the main goal being to pay the least amount of money as possible
  6. for example. my wd blue 1 tb drive is has 930gb available, my samsung 850 evo 250gb ssd has 232gb available for use
  7. Why am I being advertised a 1 Tb hard drive that when I install it only gives me 930 gb, nearly 10% of the advertised storage capacity of the drive is not available, all storage manufacturers do this and it hasn't changed, These companies should be overcompensating for whatever software they place on there storage drives so the customer actually gets the advertised capacity, anyone else wondering about this? Happens on pretty much anything with a storage drive.
  8. Ive done some more research, and I think it may be my power supply as someone has had a similar issue as me with the evga supernova g2, where there pc will crash in a similar manner when the power supply in eco mode, going to try in the normal mode and see how it goes
  9. Over the last couple of months I've been experiencing a strange problem, Randomly when I'm browsing the web, watching YouTube, my monitors both go dark, the lights on my keyboard and mouse turn off, however the lights in my computer remain on, but reset to there setting that occurs when no software is downloaded (corsair lighting node pro), all my fans remain spinning. The computer is then non- responsive, I can't turn it off with the power button or reset button. The only way to turn it off is to switch off my power supply or unplug it from the wall, I don't have extra hardware to test if a component is faulty or not as this is my first PC. Ive updated motherboard bios, all drivers are up to date, on the latest version of windows 10 home. To me it looks like either a software or motherboard issue. Also this has never happened to me when I've been gaming. Anyone else have this problem, or have any ideas? Temps are all in check as well btw on both cpu and gpu. Specs- cpu- Ryzen 5 1600 mb- Asus strix B350-f gaming ram- Crucial ballistix elite 2x 8gb 3200mhz psu- evga supernova g2 750w 80+ gold gpu- evga gtx 1070 sc2 ssd- samsung 850 evo 2.5" (O.S.) hdd- wd blue 1tb 7200rpm
  10. yeah, that multi-gpu thing will be interesting, I imagine it will be similar to the way ryzen works, having multiple smaller gpu die's to bring down costs, increase manufacturability on a smaller node and get more performance
  11. I will probably move to amd in the future anyway, I'm liking what i'm seeing with dx 12 and Vulkan so far, also I will wait for a period in time when AMD cards come down more in price
  12. cheers for the input, i think i will keep the 1070 and sell both my benq 60hz monitors and get a free sync 144hz monitor for cheap, should be able to make up the cost of the 144hz monitor by selling both my existing monitors
  13. its hard because i know the 1070 performs better than the rx 580 now, however, in a year or two..., its hard to say, you look at doom with vulkan, the rx 480 gains 40% or more performance compared to open gl, in the future with games implementing vulkan, the rx580 might close the gap
