  1. So to start off, NO I do NOT have a virus. I've used several trusted antivirus/malware scans and none have ever found anything, and I have Superfetch disabled. I'm on Windows 10 home 64 bit. I have 16GB of DDR4 2400mhz RAM, and I'm wondering why my RAM usage is so high a lot of the time. After some investigating, I've found that I as a user am not using as much RAM as my system is using in an entirety (I'm the only user). To make this more clear, I took screenshots at idle with all my background tasks running, and in the first screenshot it shows my total (for all users/system) being 3.9GB, and the second shows only MY user, not the system, being 1.4GB. I notice that the system usually hogs up a SHITLOAD of my RAM when I'm running a game (such as Rust) and I end up crashing because of it after a while. Can anyone explain to me why my system ends up using up to 7GB of RAM more than it shows my user profile using? Cause this is getting annoying and I've looked into my processes and none of them add up to the amount it says is being used (see screenshot 3).
  2. So I was trying to install the PCSX2 playstation 2 emulator onto my craptop since thats all its good for nowadays, and I ran into an issue where Microsoft Visual C++ Redistribute would just hang up on the "processing" stage of the install (I waited hours). So I cancelled it, uninstalled it from my programs and features, and went to microsoft's website to get it there, first I tried the x64 version, it failed with an unknown error at the end, uninstalled that since it showed up in programs and features, then I tried the x86 version, it hung up at the end like the first time. I cannot seem to get this to work. My laptop is a Dell Latitude e5420 with 8GB DDR3 1333mhz (2x 4GB) RAM, and an i3-2310M running windows 8.1 professional 64 bit (legit copy). I have all drivers EXCEPT the visual C++ redistribute installed and updated as far as they will go. What can I do to fix this?
  3. I'm pretty sure it's the same, its got the same pinout and the same dimensions as the mSATA SSD.
  4. So I'm looking to bring some new "life" to my old Dell Latitude e5420 Laptop by installing an SSD, originally I was gonna just swap out the 500GB HDD for a 128GB SSD and then later on get a CD ROM drive bay to SATA adapter to put the HDD into that, but then I was tinkering around and noticed 2 free mSATA ports, one short, and one long, and remembered that mSATA SSD's exist. My question is, is my old Dell Latitude e5420 compatible with an SSD of the sort, like this one https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=9SIA12K6WA0969&Description=msata ssd&cm_re=msata_ssd-_-20-147-683-_-Product . And would I be getting the same performance (or similar) compared to if I just did a SATA SSD instead? (Picture is of the mSATA port on my laptop)
  5. I installed the driver manually from Dell's website and also let windows update run its course. This is why I came here. And as I said, I did some research and there seems to be a lack of any compatible display driver for windows 10 with sandy bridge processors
  6. So, I got an old laptop from my sister, its a Dell Latitude e5420 with an i3 2310 (sandy bridge with intel HD 3000 graphics). I ressurected it from the dead with a fresh kit of 8GB DDR3 RAM, an SSD, and a new power adapter. I obviously reinstalled windows but I put windows 10 instead of its original windows 7. Now when I try to run a certain few games I'm getting a message that says "-game- is unable to run due to your drivers being out of date, please reinstall them and try again". I looked it up, and I found that my sandy bridge i3 has integrated graphics that have no supported drivers for windows 10. So that answers that, my question for you all is, can I, or someone make a custom display driver compatible with windows 10? Or is there a way to make the windows 8 64 bit driver work properly on this machine?
  7. They also were like "drop the subject!!!" when I tried calling them out on their BS
