  1. Thx, looks awesome Thx for the tip on windows, i was budgeting well over £100 for the OS. It could possibly reuse something but theres nothing i'd really want to reuse. I'm looking to get a complete upgrade. I'm hoping to either get my old machine back up and running for use as a back up/general use rig or at least salvage some parts from it to build a cheap back up pc.
  2. I loved my old build. Probably because it took my building virginity Those parts look awesome AND they're under budget! Thx Yeah, i had an idea i'd strrugle to find an adequate monitor with that budget. My absolute max is £2500 but i'd like to keep close to £2000 if possible
  3. Hey guys, I just joined the forum recently. I'm hoping for some help on choosing parts for a new gaming pc. I had helped upgrade parts on PCs in the past and built my 1st (and only) PC from sctatch in May 2013. It lasted until about this time of the year in 2015 when it failed to resume from sleep, told me the BIOS was corrupt, asked if i wanted to recover the BIOS from a back up, which it then failed to do My old rig had a budget of around £850 and consisted of the following: VTX3D HD 7870 Black Boost Edition 2Gb Video Card Intel Core i5 3570k 3.40Ghz (Ivybridge) OC'd to around 4.1-4.2Ghz (OEM) Gigabyte Z77-DDR3 Motherboard Corsair Carbide 300R mid tower case in black 8Gb (2x4Gb) Kingston Hyper X Genesis 1600Mhz DDR3 Dual Channel RAM Thermaltake Smart Series 530W Modular PSU Toshiba 7K1000D 1Tb 6GBs32Mb cache HDD (OEM) Thermalright HR-02 Macho Cpu Cooler LiteOn 24x DVD-RW (OEM) Windows 7 Home Premium (OEM) Due to various personal reasons, which i won't bore you with, i have been without a main PC ever since and have had to rely on a PS4 for gaming. I can't stand it anymore and need assistance to rejion the PC master race I'm hoping to eventually salvage my old rig for use as a back up/spare PC. (If i can ever find out what went wrong) I'm looking for a fresh start build and so won't be salvaging any parts from the old rig. I have a budget of £2000, with a small amount of leeway for overrun. I'm going to be using it for gaming, hopefully for resolutions of 4k, and VR. I need everything, including OS and monitor, although i can buy a recommended monitor at a later date if it helps get more performance for my budget. I live in Scotland so prices for me are in pounds sterling. I'm way out of the loop on current parts, especially working within a budget to get maximum value and performance, and have a grand total of 0 friends who have any interest in gaming or computers in general, so any and all help would be very much appreciated
