  1. Good news, we got it to work. We let the windows server 2016 install run and get stuck at the logo for a couple hours and it installed everything after. So everything runs smoothly. Drivers are all installed and working. I appreciate the assistance from everyone. This forum has been the most friendly and help forum I've ever been in. Thank you all, you guys are amazing!
  2. Trust me, this wasn't my decision nor build lol I informed them this was way too much like a gaming PC than a server PC. But oh well
  3. We left it running for the last hour, still stuck on the windows logo screen. We're using a CD drive for the install.
  4. That’s what we thought but it’s not booting the isntallation. It gets stuck on this screen.
  5. Hello, My work’s “R&D” and “IT” built a new server computer this is his specs: AMD Threadripper 1950x Gigabyte Aorus X399 Kingston Hyperfury X 32GB Corsair H100i v2 Thermaltake Toughpower 1000W Gold Asus GT 710 Samsung m.2 500GB Seagate Ironwolf 4TB Coolermaster HAF XB EVO The company bought the Windows Server 2016 Standard operating system prior to the PC build and had the R&D and IT guy build a PC. My co-worker and I advised that the buikd he’s doing isn’t correct for a server Now the PC is built but the OS is not booting/installing. We can get into the bios and tried differnt boot patterns but nothing is working. Can we run the Windows Server 2016 OS woth this build? Are we booting something wrong? Any help would be greatly appreciated
  6. That's very interesting stuff. I really had no idea. The sever will be operating our files, Quickbooks, images, programs such as shipping, and etc. Nick
  7. Hello, I'm having a debate at work with a co-worker. He's building a server computer and all I know is that he chose an AMD Ryzen 16 core as the CPU. From my knowledge, you would want to run a different CPU designed for sever rooms and not gaming. Would that AMD Ryzen work or what would be recommended instead for use? Thanks for any info. Sorry for the lack of computer knowledge. I really appreciate everyone's help. Nick
  8. Thanks for that. Good to get a better understanding on the running temps.
  9. Ah ok. Thanks for the information and help. I was a bit worried.
  10. Sorry about that usage of F. I was using C but correct I'm from the US and never used C so converting wasn't simple for me. But I'll keep in C and read it off that. Thank you
  11. Thanks everyone for the information. I had friends telling me yesterday and it got me bit worried. I've switched it Celsius reading. So under load, getting around 40-45C is ok?
  12. The idling is some what ok, but i heard lower temps would be better such as in the 80s which is roughly 28-30C. What about when I'm running applications and temps jump up over 100F?
  13. Hello everyone, I'm in need of some assistance. I just finished setting up my build without my 1080ti as it has not arrived yet. The set is as follows: CPU: intel i7-7700k Kabylake Motherboard: Asus Strix Z270e CPU Cooler: NZXT Kraken X62 Ram: G. SKill Trident Z RGB 16 GB Intake Fans: NZXT Aer 140mm RGB (in front the the radiator) Output Fans: NZXT Aer 140mm RGB and NZXT 120mm stock case fan Case: NAZXT S340 Elite OS: Windows 10 Home Pro 64-Bit Please note temp reading are in Fahrenheit . I used the stock thermal paste on the Kraken X62, and everything is flowing good but it's running around 90 at idle and 95 100s (120, 140, 150, 160). Those higher temps are when I was downloading games onto the computer like PUBG, ARK, Overwatch. I stopped all downloads for the time being. I'm thinking there is an issue with the thermal paste that came on the Kraken X62. Should I go to Fry's pick up some arctic thermal paste and reapply it? Or what would be cause the system to be idling at such a warm temperature? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Edit: I uploaded a reading right after submitting this post and the CAM software is reading 117 degrees.. Also like to add I have no tweaked anything on the CPU, Fans or motherboard.
  14. Thanks everyone for the input. It's has been a conflicting question to myself all day with everything ready to buy for the I7-7700K. I think I may just build this one as it should be more than enough to do what I need to do.
  15. Hello, I recently acquired an I7-7700k for free and G. SKill Trident Z RGB 16 GB DDR4. I wanted start a new PC build and planned to buy everything this week but with the news of the new 8th gen processor coming out, it made me contemplate whether to stick with the 7700K or sell it and get the 8700K next week. Would the 8700K be worth the wait? I do not have any other computer parts yet except the two mentioned above. Any input would be great. I mainly play games and do some photo editing for work. I currently use a Lenovo Y50 laptop. It runs ok but it starts to have graphic issues with gaming. I had to recently lower my settings just to load into PUBG, Starcraft, Overwatch, and ARK. ARK being the worse then PUBG then the other two. The Y50 is is I7-4XXX (can't recall what version), GTX 960M, 16 GB of RAM, 250 SSD, 1 TB HD. IPS monitor
