Whats the best cpu that would fit in a z77 chipset motherboard?

i either upgrade these at a cost of £560, thinking a Ryzen 7 1700, 16gb ddr4 3000mhz ram and an x370 board or get an xbox one x with 6 games for £449. i currently have an i7 2600k at 4.4ghz, 16gb ram and a gtx 1070.

I must ask how is the Ryzen 5 1600? As i see you currently own one.

A bit of everything really, but mostly gaming and also want the most future proofed option. Possible upgrade to newer ryzen at a later date.

The Asrock does look good, not heard much about them until more recently though.

Thinking of upgrading my i7 2600k which is overclocked to 4.5ghz, would the ryzen 7 1700 be much of an upgrade? It would be used for gaming mostly, however i certainly do not have the funds to buy an intel coffeelake cpu, as much as i would love to.

oh sorry, i have flicked to the other bios and that does nothing other than freeze at the older bios splash screen like i have happen at times on the main bios.

I have tried several of the older ones with no luck.

I thought it could be that, but downgraded bios, still the same issue, and then upgraded again, and still the same. I would say 8 out of 10 times it boots fine, but the others it either freezes and cant move mouse or use keyboard or it reverts to the old bios flash screen and cant do anything on that either. Im just hoping it isnt something faulty as cant really afford to buy new parts.

I have an i7 2600k, a Gigabyte z77 ud3h motherboard and 16gb ddr3 memory. Every once in a while my computer will not get past bios splash screen, however what is strange is that the bios screen is the old bios and not the updated version which is what is installed. The only way i can get it to post again is by resetting cmos, as no amount of rebooting computer gets it past that screen. Just wondered if anyone has come across this before and what could be wrong? Thanks.
