  1. i think that all the transfers are all local to the tp-link switch, i dont know if that changes something but basically i cannot connect the pc nr 1 to the pc nr 2 like in the picture, right?
  2. Kind of, to transfer files to the other pc (servers) / nas
  3. The pc nr 2 (see picture in first post) has dual gbit network card plus the integrated one and the other machine (pc nr 1) has the integrated nic too. i would like to use the dual gbit one for the pc nr 2 and since all the cables will go to that card, instead of pulling another one for pc nr 1 (or even another one for the integrated network card of pc 2) i was wondering if i could connect the pc like in the picture. And like i said earlier ifi use a switch for the 2 pc i think i would waste the dual gbit card since the switch will then connect to the rest of the network with a single cable. Also both of the machines run linux distros (i dont think ill buy 2 ISO of windows for those); one uses ubuntu and the other one ubuntu or mint (still have to choose).
  4. Cause i already have a switch in my room https://imgur.com/naVdUni ( the one under it is broken and its 100 mbps only) and the pc's should go under here https://imgur.com/vGrjR8j , as you can see there are already 2 ethernet cables. I think that if i put a switch there too i just waste the dual gigabit card since it will connect to a switch that has only one cable going to the rest of the network.
  5. Hello people. I was just wondering if i could connect 2 pc's to the internet like this https://imgur.com/gfhY3df (the 2 top cables go to the router) , that would simplify everything since i wont have to pull 4 cables to the pc's but just 2 that i already placed. If i can connect the pc like in the picture, how am i gonna do it? Also i know that the integrated nic's in the pc get power even if the pc is turned off so i want to know if the external nic in pc 2 (the one at the top with dual ethernet) can get power too even when the pc is off so that pc 1 will be connected to the internet even if pc 2 is off. Is all of this possible?
  6. Hello, few hours ago I posted a topic where i said that there was a sound coming from near the cpu after my pc crashed. I found out that the sound was coming from the waterblock only when this was plugged in the cpu-fan connector. Then (since I thought the os" windows 7 ultimate" was the culprit) I swapped the hdd with windows 7 on it with an ssd that had windows 10 on it. I got same results, even windows 10 is unable to boot and the only thing I see is the BSOD of windows 10. I took my old i3 from my server and I put it in the pc and everything started to work fine. Then I put the i7 in the server(os ubuntu, hdd seagate 1tb, mb msi h110M PRO-vd, ram crucial dual channel 16 gb 2133 mhz ddr4) and the os didn't boot up (I get a orange/purple screen without anything on it, just the screen with ubuntu's colors).(main pc: cpu i7 7700k, gpu zotac gtx 1050 mini, psu xfx ts450 (450w), motherboard msi h170M PRO-VDH, main hdd wd blue 1 tb, heatsink corsair h80i v2, ram hyperx fury ddr4 single channel 2133mhz 8gb). So here comes the question: is my i7 dead? It is brand new it doesnt even have 1 month of life and it worked fine for few weeks.
  7. I just tried to boot from the dvd drive with windows installation cd inside and I got another blue screen of death..
  8. I only have 1 stick of ram in the "only one stick of ram" slot on the motherboard. The sound must come out from the cpu or maybe something nearby cause I just plugged my pump to a system fan header on another working pc and it makes just a little sound near the waterblock (I guess it is the water flowing). The sound is not coming from the gpu, hdd, power supply. Also I don't think that a bad cooler would not allow windows from booting
  9. I just tried the safe mode and after loading the files the blue screen appeared again and the pc restarted itself
  10. I am checking the cpu temps right now and it stays on 30/31 degrees (pretty normal I guess) . I forgot to mention that the cpu and the watercooling system are brand new
  11. Hello everyone, few minutes ago i was playing with my pc, then everything froze for few seconds and Windows crashed followed by the blue-screen of death (Short Screen of death after reboot: https://imgur.com/ya2IcbO , Main blue screen of death https://imgur.com/xKyNTqA ). I tried to reboot the system by selecting "Start windows normally" and "Launch Startup Repair (recommended)" options but nothing works ( i get a different blue screen of death). I noticed a weird sound coming from the cpu (maybe the waterblock). I didnt found any leaks or burned parts yet. Pc specs: O.S. Windows 7 ultimate, cpu i7 7700k (not overclocked), Motherboard MSI h170M PRO-VDH (i know its a bad choice for that cpu), Ram HyperxFury 2133Mhz 8gb DDR4, CPU cooler Corsair H80i v2, GPU gtx 1050mini, PSU XFX TS 450 (450W), HDD WD Blue 1TB, + some other useless stuff like dvd drive, a currently not in use ssd and some fans. (i know it is a bad config, i am working on that already :/). Thanks for future help
  12. Ok so I managed to update the bios and now the bios recognized the new cpu and everything seems to work fine. Thank you for helping me P.s. if you are wondering why I put an unlocked cpu in this mb, well, first of all I didnt think about the mb chipset, probably because aint going to do overclock any time soon. Also I needed another cpu for my server so I thought to myself "why dont I get a really powerful one since I have enough money, and put my i3 in the server?". Those are the reasons why I got an unlocked cpu.
  13. Hello everyone. I upgraded my cpu from an i3 6100 to an i7 7700k. After I finished to install it, I tried to turn the pc on but, even if the fans/hdd/etc turn on, the screen is black and no images are displayed. My motherboard says it can suppor i7 CPUs. I already tried to reset the bios by closing the jbatt pins with a screwdriver for 20 seconds but nothing. Should I try to put the updated version of the bios on an usb stick? And if I do that how do I manage to update it since there is nothing on the screen and keyboard and mouse seems not to work. Let me know if you have other suggestions. My motherboard is an MSI B150M PRO-VDH M.ATX S.1151
  14. Ok,so I tried to use the cmd that themctipers suggested and it didnt work. I think I have to backup the data from ubuntu. Also can I just drag and Drop the files from the old to the new hdd or I have to do a proper backup?
