  1. I was unsuccessful at using linux reader idk if the program is at fault or my lack of knowledge as i have tried almost every option in the program to open the drive unsuccessfully. I will try to put it in its original enclosure and read data from there if anyone has further suggestions please comment below Thank you all for your recomendations
  2. I will first try the linux reader on the Faulty A drive (the B drive is 100% fully working) so if linux reader corrupcts some files it wont be that big of a loss and then i can try the NAS copying methos (Drive A is failing so i dont want to put any data on it because i maybe coudnt be able to recover it
  3. Yeah heres why i shutted it all down in the first place on the A drive the smart status has an FAIL Relocated sectors:133 I dont wanna see the drive quitting on me half way trough the transfer
  4. Yeah this one is 5-6 years old the drives were manufactured in 2011 and there is a very weird glitch when the drives fill up you cannot access the online interface anymore and WD wasnt able to help me + the ios app stopped working for me soo i decided to put ALL of our drives in one safe place. I have some kind of a server in storage i think in the future i will put everything into that as it has 12 fast swap or whatever drive bays. Btw sorry for the not perfect english im from croatia and its my 3rd launguage that im still learning
  5. I dont currently have a 2 TB drive in this system i do have 4TB ones in storage but that is a 4 hour drive from where I live even if I could find place for it i have to transfer it to those drives again @moderategamer
  6. Thank you really REALLY much @adelintru i will try it and report the results back to here thank you again .
  7. Hmm i would like to use those 2 drives as archives so plugging them into the nas and transfering the files to my pc and from my pc to them seems rather complicated when the files are here. So if I installed ubuntu I could see the files, but how could i make it readable to windows? thank you for the replies
  8. It was in "redundency mode" and only 2 drives were in there so i think it was raid 1 And is there a way that i could extract the data withoud plugging it in the nas and copying the data over lan and how would i do that on Windows or boot a program to do that btw i tought that raid 1 is a complete miror so 1 drive can operate by itself so no rebuilding was needed
  9. Hi I recently took 2 hard drives from a WD Nas one of the drives was failing and the NAS acted weirdly so i pulled the plug that was a fey months/years ago, The drives are in the device manager and are detected by diskmgmt and Partition wizard but not in My computer. When the drives were in the nas they were configure as clones of each other (i dont know what raid that is and i dont want to get it wrong), Each of them have 4 partitions on them and 3 of the šartitions are 4 gb or smaller and the last one is 1.8 TB, I would like to KEEP THE DATA on them because its over 20 years of our family photos on them. Feel free to post any further questions i will be answering them quickly in the next 2 hours THANK YOU Patrik
