Hello everyone, I'm looking into buy a laptop with 4cores+ 16gb ram.. I need it to run simulations for my research. I currently have a 2core i7 7500u processor and I want to upgrade. I honestly like modding, however, I won’t do it with my first headset. I said HD800s because I tried it with the HDVD800 sennheiser amp and it absolutely an amazing experience. For trying the equipment before actually buying, i’ll have to spend an extensive amount of time looking for a place(s) where I can test many combos. I’m still reading through the beginer forum posts on here to learn what everything means. What makes this even cooler is that I will study some of this in uni.

Omg!! Thanks a lot bro, that was supper helpful. I think for the sack of convience ill go for a DAC and Amp combo as a starter for now. For the sake of a smoother start to get familiar with all the knowledge, sounds and of course budget. I’ve tried the hd800s with the hdvd 800 from sennheiser which is an amp and dac combo but it’s expensive. The 500 usd fotex amp+dac is it a good combo for the hd800s ? I think at that price point i can get it the whole thing much sooner which is super exciting. I have to admit the experience of that headset was surreal. The guy helping was just as passionate about those things. I’ll be spending all the time i got (2months) to learn more about the audiophile, i feel like i’ve postponed this passion for a long time. But please tell me if the fotex is the one to go for, i mean, if 2-3 hundred more would provide an even better than i might consider investing even more! Thanks for the you guys for the replies. To be completelt transparent, it’ll be taking me a while to get the headset (3 months) to save enough for it. I am planning to get an amplifier to get the most out of this headset of course. Since I am new the audio world and a student in electrical engineering it would be really helpful if you can explain to me between a DAC and an Amp, or do i need both? I don’t compose music or anything but oh man do I crave the high definition music and sounds. My budget for it would be 1k usd-2k usd, of course I’d also appreciate if you can point out where the law of diminishing returns starts kicking in. The amp you will suggest, will it be aimmed at 300ohm impedence headset or will it be optimal for the hd800s ? Also, the DAC, how helpful would it be ? Sorry if I’m asking for a lot of explanations Thanks a lot for the help!!

Hello everyone, I’ve been planning to buy the Sennheiser Hd800S and the amplifer(not sure if I should) hdvd 800. The headset I really like, tried it today with the amplifer connected to it. It was great, didn’t get to listen to a full song sadly I know about the 100hour-150 hour thing. I’m getting a wooden stand and a 6.3mm to a 3.5mm with it. I’m thinking of a wire extender and any other equipment that can boost my experience. Also, for highend audio equipment where is the best place to listen to the music go fully immerse myself in its world while listening.

Oh, I didn’t see I’d like to ask since I’m skeptic on whether I should buy one or not. How good is the headset? Compared to bose quiet comefort ?and is it worth for that price? They said it takes a while to be delivered, how long did yours take ?

I've had a similar problem when building my PC. I was using a Kraken X62 watercooling system for cpu i7 7700k. My issue was that I didn't tighten the screws enough. I tightened the screws and rerun the system, it fixed it for me. I believe it's best i mention that after seeing my team in the bio at 85 degrees idle (celcius). I was very confused because my watercooling was working, i felt some motion in the tubes as i turned them one, and the led on the head was on as well. Tightened it and it solved the problem. Edit: Same cpu cooler. Yeah you're probably having the same problem. Just tighten the screws bro. Good luck!

I’ll get a new case. I’ll have to disassemble it. But, I need to know nothing went into the GPU. After cleaning the glass. Is there a safe way to make sure it’s running? It wasn’t a cheap gpu so I’m trying to be very safe with it. Having said that, I’d like to check its health now. Im in the process of cleaning it. at which point should I plug it in and check if eveything is running. I think the rgb lighting up will be a good indicator that all is good for the components? -

So I had my tempered glass case on my desk. It’s the Phanteks Enthloo Evolv ATX and it fell. The tempered glass broke into a million pieces of glass. It looked majestic for a brief part of a second which was ensued with great agony. my specs are: asus maximus ix hero asus strix 1080ti 7700k i7 kraken x62 i guess thats the revelant part. The glass is everywhere. I want to clean it, i need to check whats broken and what’s not (obviously the tempered glass Kappa) I’ll try to attach some picture BEWARE NSFL, anyone with a weak mind or stomach dont look, it’s gruesome, the insides are barexd. i need to check the health of my product, need tips for cleaning. Should I use a vacuum ? Etc I’ll update with the other side of the case, as i cant now. Because one side is shattered the other is intake with cracks.

Yeah.. The disconnecting makes it very hard to test/reinstall stuff. Thank you guys for the input.
