Budget (including currency): $3000 if buying over MSRP, realistically $2000
Country: USA
Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: gaming, better performance in games like RDR2 and enough grunt to play newer games. Most likely emulate as well
Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc): http://pcpartpicker.com/list/jhB2Vw
WD red drives are going to be used for my current computer to be repurposed as a NAS, which can be ignored for the time being, the WD black is going to be used as bulk storage (that gets backed up to the NAS)
Running Linux, any suggestions on better parts compatibility would be greatly appreciated (such as using a similar mobo without wifi and using a specific wifi dongle that's known to work out of the box)
Also, I've used enough RAM that 32GB makes a bit more sense for me
