  1. Not to speak to the veracity of it, but it's certainly been around for five months, when it was originally posted on Reddit, https://www.reddit.com/r/LinusTechTips/comments/11dltrr/unreleased_meeting_december_9_2021/
  2. Because making sexual jokes immediately bars you from being a victim of sexual harassment. You're an absolute clown.
  3. Probably being in favor of validation in benchmarks, not stealing prototypes, and not harassing employees. How dare they /s
  4. Thank you for your service. I started reading it but stopped, might get a headache otherwise.
  5. Not to mention that some people here are exactly why SA victims rarely come out against a company that has as many sycophants as LTT does.
  6. It's extremely rough for employees to come out against sexual harassment and discrimination. It's them against a gigantic corporation with the perks that it affords LTT's leadership. This led Madison to self-harm. It destroyed her mental health. That matters, despite what you say. I'm not well-versed in Canada's legal system, but I'm willing to bet LMG won't pursue legal action against her. It's bad for their image and for business. Discovery might also lead to actual evidence. Instead of defending a corporation that is very capable of defending itself, you could have chosen to listen to the victim. There's a chance that these allegations are false, but they rarely are, and it's people like you that actively discourage people that were harmed from speaking up. Shame on you.
  7. Where is the direct apology to Gamers Nexus and Hardware Unboxed? Linus made a comment in a recent WAN show about the importance of not surrounding yourself with sycophants? If you want to truly show humility and a desire to change, apologize for gaslighting and criticizing Gamers Nexus for not reaching out prior to their upload. Apologize to Billet for also selling a prototype and then gaslighting them too. Publicly.
  8. It's ok to make mistakes, even gigantic companies make mistakes. What's not ok, and what has been eroding my trust on LTT for years is how hasty everything is. When I'm watching a review to make a purchasing decision, I want someone who spent time with the product, who understands it, not someone that was shoved in front of a camera. GN has the right to be concerned. They have become THE benchmark for proper testing and unbiased reviews. They have changed corporate behavior by documenting problems. Newegg, power supplies exploding, cases catching on fire, for example. If I were Steve, and had spent the majority of my time for the last decade building something that is trusted, through hard decisions and being tough on companies, I'd understand his concern about the lack of quality in testing. We all stand to lose if LMG doesn't get the lab right. Be better, Linus.
  9. I'm in the process of building a PC with an ungodly amount of RGB. 9 RGB fans, a distribution plate, GPU and CPU water blocks, an RGB PSU, and a case with an RGB light strip. I also want to control everything via iCUE, which adds to the complication. In total, there are at least 167 LEDs in the PC. I think that the maximum power draw for each is 0.05 A, meaning that in total, I'm going to need 8.35 A. Here's the current setup: Corsair Commander Core XT provides PWM to 9 fans and controls the RGB. It is powered by SATA. One RGB header in the Commander Core XT is connected via Corsair RGB adapter to a Pirate Dog Tech 10-port A-RGB hub, which is powered by SATA. This hub provides power and iCUE control to the fan RGBs and provides iCUE control to the PSU. Another RGB header in the Commander Core XT is connected via Corsair RGB adapter to another Pirate Dog Tech 10-port A-RGB hub, which is power by SATA. This hub provides power and iCUE control to the case RGB strip, the distribution plate, and the GPU and CPU blocks. I have attached an image of the current setup. I'm not really confident in my knowledge about how SATA power works, and if I'm really off the mark on power, so here's my questions: Does this make any sense? Is the power sufficient? The motherboard comes with 1-4 SATA cables. What does that mean for power delivery? I'm pretty confident that a single SATA plug can supply 4.5 A on 5 V, so, should I just use separate PSU cables rather than the daisy-chained cables?
  10. I've thought about this a lot. I worked at a factory where glass was tempered a few years ago, and I know how resilient the glass can be. But you are right. I was planning on getting a padded Pelican traveling case for it, but it makes more sense to avoid glass. I'll look for cases. Thanks for the tip! The cheapest CL14 B-die 16GB RAM sticks I can find are $210, and they are not low profile. I've read that CAS latency is more important in AMD builds, do you think I should try getting Samsung B-die even if I spend a bit more? M.2 960 EVO is too expensive for me, and this case can hold 2 2.5' drives, so I opted to save a bit on it. The original plan was getting a EVGA FTW3, but multiple people posted that it was a tight fit and they had better thermals with a blower-style. Thanks for all the tips!
  11. I'm planning an ITX build for video editing and gaming during college. Over the past few years, I've been saving up enough money to finally build a dream PC of my own This is my first build, so I fear I might be missing something obvious. This is why I am posting it here. Budget: $2,500 Location: Continental USA Aim: Video editing and gaming, small enough for a carry-on at the airport, I'll be traveling a few times a year. Monitors: I already have a 1440p 144hz monitor, and I plan on adding another one. Why the upgrade: To have a powerhouse that can do everything I want it to, I am studying computer science and I edit videos, plus I plan on gaming a bit. Expected issues: The small form factor makes it have low airflow, which is why I opted for a blower-style 1080ti. In anticipation to those issues, I plan on purchasing 4 Noctua fans (2 120mm for push-pull, 2 140mm for case fans). I expect the PC to be warm, so overclocking might not reach the 5Ghz, but that's fine. The fans and the rad fit, I know because someone else already built it in the case this way here. 12. Well nicer monitors are a lot more expensive, and I don't plan on gaming that much. I am moving to study CS and graphical design, which I don't think an insane screen is good for (yet at least) I changed the PSU to the Cooler Master one, thanks for the input!
  13. What power supply would you recommend? Loudness is fine, I use headphones 24/7. The plan is to upgrade to a better screen soon.
