  1. I plan to buy something with at least 80 Plus Silver from someone like Seasonic to avoid any future issues. Thank you for all your help!
  2. So that's a yes on a new power supply, but ensuring everything is connected properly and switched off before plugging into power?
  3. Will it be safe to switch on with a new power supply or will I need to take precautions?
  4. Coolermaster G750m 750w 80 Plus PSU
  5. I didn't, which I think is what caused the spark sound when I plugged it back in.
  6. I hope you all can be of some help. After upgrading my cpu/motherboard/ram combo, I booted the system and it booted no issue and ran stably which I tweaked the bios and got windows working on the new hardware. I then unplugged the system from the power directly so I could work on my cable management. When I plugged the system back in, there was a spark sound. Not thinking anything of it I pressed the power button, and smoke began to pour out of the computer. I unplugged it immediately and am unsure how to proceed. I am 99% sure the issue is with the PSU as there are no blown capacitors on the motherboard. Any help at all would be appreciated. Thank you.
