  1. Willing to try anything at this point so I'll give that a shot.
  2. Hi all, I've posted this on the ROG forums to no avail so I thought I would post it here to see if anyone can help. I just bought and installed a new ASUS Strix 1080ti OC to replace an aging GTX680 while I wait for the news on Coffee Lake to do the rest of the system. After re-installing the drivers, I am noticing a significant stutter when scrolling text and moving windows around. I have ran a few games and they appear they run without error, however, I feel like they aren't running to their full potential (no artifacts though). I can't capture the jitter with a screen shot, but I can screen shot the window trails when I move a window around vigorously. I should also mention that the trails only last in the tenths of seconds before the screen is refreshed and looks normal again. Here is what I my screenshot grabbed: http://i.imgur.com/lkwwloe.png The best explanation of the error I can come up with is that the frames aren't updating fast enough. This would explain the jitter and the window trails I am seeing. I am on 60Hz so that certainly shouldn't be an issue for the new card. It is getting to the point where I am starting to feel nauseous looking at my monitor after a while. I have 3 27" monitors at work so I am fine looking at a screen all day Computer Type: Desktop, custom built, very stable with old card (GTX680) GPU: ASUS Strix 1080ti OC Edition, default settings CPU: Intel 3770k @ 4.5GHz Motherboard: ASUS P8Z77-VPro Bios ver 2104 RAM: G. Skills Ripjaw X DDR3 2133 2x4GB PSU: Corsair HX750 Operating System & Version: Windows 7, fresh install Monitor: ASUS PA238Q, 1080p 60Hz, waiting for PG35VQ GPU Drivers: 385.41 (also tried 385.28) I have tried numerous fixes: Numerous settings in NVIDIA Control Panel including VSync, 50Hz/59Hz/60Hz refresh rates, different cables (HDMI, DVI, DisplayPort), older drivers, different PCI-E slot, reinstalled windows, different power cables. I started to think I was just imagining things but I have since gone back to my GTX680 and things are working as normal and the difference is noticeable. I am going to try it in a friends machine tonight to see if the same issue persists. Thanks for any input you can provide. ** EDIT** So I am an idiot. I never installed chipset drivers which manage the PCI-E 3.0 slot. With my old card, I guess default drivers were sufficient (8 lane vs 16???) however the bandwidth with this card required 16 lanes, hence the frame skips. I'm sure I am not technically correct with this description, but the idea probably stands. If anyone wants to elaborate, please feel free.
