  1. Hey guys, I need help with an old laptop that's giving me nightmares. It's an Acer Aspire 5315, old and pretty much uselees, but my dad wants it anyway. The problem is, it won't boot from anything. Boot only sends you to the BIOS, where everything seems fine. If you dare to put a DVD with any Windows, or a bootable USB with any Linux distro, Windows or even FreeDOS and press F12 (or select the device to boot first in the BIOS), then a beeping from hell will start. Like the CMOS Beeps but loud and horrible. I tried everything. The last solution was to flash or update the BIOS again, maybe the current one is corrupt. But here's the paradox: it has to be installed via Windows (it's an executable), and the BIOS doesn't show any update feature. But, in order to install it, i have to be able to boot from ANYTHING. You get the idea, I'm pretty much stuck. Any suggestions before I throw this laptop from the window? Thank you very much.
  2. A guy about 2 hours from my house is selling this: i5-3470 8gb RAM R9 270 2GB WD Blue 1TB HDD 600W PSU (I doubt it's 80+ certified) Generic case Unknown motherboard
  3. I sent the monitor to Acer's HQ here and they said the problem is the mainboard, they have to change it. But since this country is literally anus, they don't have nor can't import the spare part.
  4. Hi, I'm from Argentina and I have an Acer GN246HL monitor that died a few weeks ago. In order to repair it, I need to find the mainboard, something that Acer's South American warranty guys don't have. A friend is going to the US on vacation soon, so he would bring me the spare part if only I could find it. The exact part number is 55.LW0M3.001. I could use any help. Thank you in advance.
  5. Hi, I have a chance to get this motherboard https://www.asus.com/us/Commercial-Servers-Workstations/Z9PAD8/ for less than $200. I was thinking about pairing it with 2 x E5-2650 v2 and 32 GB ECC Reg 1600 MHz RAM and add my pre-owned GTX 1060 6 GB. My question is: Is this worth if my intention is to edit videos/photos and play games? Is there any better (and cheaper) option with the same performace? What about bottlenecks in games? Thanks.
  6. Hi, I just wanted to know if someone has experience with a dual Xeon setup in a server motherboard. Like two X5660 (or similar) with something like a GTX 1070. Will it bottleneck something while playing games or rendering, etc? Or should I go for a X79 or dual LGA2011 setup? Thanks.
  7. I will try with wired connection, but online games never had lag. I'm tunneled with some kind of graphics problem. Fresh Windows install and Firefox/Chrome/Edge would do the same thing.
  8. I'm going to check again, but I'm pretty sure I had it running in High Performance. Thank you <3
  9. I didin't put the card in my actual system, but I tried it in 3 different AMD FX systems that worked just fine with other cards. That's why I'm out of ideas and thinking that the card is starting to die. In one system in particular it would have the same "lag" while playing games, but with black blinks.
  10. Hi. I have something very rare happening with a Sapphire Nitro+ R9 380. At first I thought it was throttling, but temps at full load are near 78º C. But the problem isn't that, here's the strange thing. When playing games, the card will work perfectly. Lots of FPS in League of Legends, around 80-90 in PUBG @ 1080p, and so on. But, when I try to watch something in Netflix, the image will freeze every 3-4 seconds for like less than a second, which makes it impossible to watch anything. I tried a lot of things: Motherboard. (I tried in 3 different ones) PSU. (Also 3 different) CPU (Tried with an FX 8350 and two different FX 6300). I'm starting to think that the card is starting to die. Thanks a lot in advance for your help.
  11. Hi, I'm currently having a problem with a Sapphire Nitro+ R9 380. The card seems to be working fine until it's 'forced' to do something. Anything from watching Netflix or playing a game makes the PC freeze for like 0.5 seconds and, after 5 or 6 seconds, it freezes for 0.5 again. The loop is infinte. I've tested the next things and it didn't change anything so now I'm out of ideas: Changing CPU Changing PCI slot PSU is working fine The PC where I was testing the card has an Asus M5A99 FX PRO R2.0, an AMD FX-8350 and 16 GB DDR3 1866 MHz. PSU is a Cooler Master B700 V2. Thank you in advance.
  12. Specs are: Motherboard: MSI B350 PC Mate CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 1500X Cooler: Corsair Hydro Series H90 Memory: Kingston HyperX Fury 16 GB DDR4 @ 2400 MHz Graphics: Sapphire Nitro+ Radeon RX 580 8 GB Storage: ADATA Ultimate SU800 128 GB M.2 SSD & Seagate BarraCuda 2 TB HDD I'll also have an optical DVD/RW drive, a FireWire PCI card with a Focusrite Saffire Pro 40 connected and 4 140mm on the case
  13. Thank you very much. So I guess for a Ryzen 5 1500X and a Sapphire Nitro+ RX 580 8 GB a 600W 80 plus white PSU is more than enough?
