Hey guys, I need help with an old laptop that's giving me nightmares.
It's an Acer Aspire 5315, old and pretty much uselees, but my dad wants it anyway.
The problem is, it won't boot from anything. Boot only sends you to the BIOS, where everything seems fine. If you dare to put a DVD with any Windows, or a bootable USB with any Linux distro, Windows or even FreeDOS and press F12 (or select the device to boot first in the BIOS), then a beeping from hell will start. Like the CMOS Beeps but loud and horrible.
I tried everything. The last solution was to flash or update the BIOS again, maybe the current one is corrupt. But here's the paradox: it has to be installed via Windows (it's an executable), and the BIOS doesn't show any update feature. But, in order to install it, i have to be able to boot from ANYTHING. You get the idea, I'm pretty much stuck.
Any suggestions before I throw this laptop from the window? Thank you very much.
