  1. As of late I have been seeing/noticing a lot of color banding issues in some games on my end & they have been standing out to me more than they ever have when ever I try to just play so I have been thinking about replacing my monitor admittedly it's not exactly a great monitor but it has served me well I go it back in 2013 iirc. The current monitor https://www.acer.com/ac/en/PH/content/model/ET.LU50D.013 It seems there is or for some was a issue with nvidia + windows somewhere as there is lots of talk of nvidia gpu's showing issues with windows 10 1903 & 1909 (I'm on 1909 & was trying to avoid having to downgrade to test older builds out) https://www.reddit.com/r/nvidia/comments/c7c578/followup_for_workaround_on_windows_10_1903_color/ Have any of you folks here experienced color banding appearing worse in the latest widows 10 release 1909 ? the worst game it appears in for me is Alien isolation then other games it's not so bad but I now find myself constantly looking for it lol (maybe I should stop that eh ? ) Does the monitor you use show no or minimal Color banding ? My budget for a new monitor currently is around £300/350 (maybe more not sure yet). I'm looking to find a monitor that possibly gets rid of it or minimizes it (an 8bit panel ?) with good response times, 24 or 27 inches, 8bit & I'm not sure about IPS or VA maybe someone knows better can recommend between them. My PC specs: CPU: Ryzen 1600 GPU: EVGA GTX 1070 SC RAM 32GB DDR4 Corsair 2 samsung evo ssd's
  2. Just a little update I received the Corsair RAM I linked to above & for some reason they appear to in incompatible with my mobo the error code on DrDebug shows 4f when I try to use them. I have emailed Asrock waiting for a reply from them I may end up returning them for a refund. I have some older sticks which I have put in (I got when I initially built this machine) now which run fine in memtest86 with no errors but I still randomly have got the same BSOD unfortunately so now I'm very confused what could actually be wrong. I have now also done a completely fresh installtion on windows after formatting the OS drive & only have steam, AMD chipset drivers, Nividia GPU drivers (tested already with latest drivers & older ones same results) Notepad++, Realtek drivers & 1 game installed. Could this possibly be a motherboard issue ? maybe even power supply ? I don't have these spare components to try swapping stuff out with others so I may end up building another build at this point lol I have been trying everything from this link & I still have been getting this same BSOD I have these 2 memory dump files as my latest dumps from the PC in question can anyone here possibly take a look at them ? Memory.dmp file: https://drive.google.com/open?id=127qOYZ1PVgi_8f3_eaREYUCTkFvO4Uyi New minidump: https://drive.google.com/open?id=1KiHDiVHHhPgXfPwM_Gj975v3w-KbFKaV It seems to happen I notice more now when I try to play a game which uses EasyAntiCheat (needs to be enabled to play on servers) but I'm not 100% that is the root of it.
  3. Yeah I only ran the earlier which showed nothing wrong but memtest86 found errors pretty quick (I didn't have enough free time earlier today when I started the thread to do memtest). To be honest the motherboard dimm slots I have noticed on the Asrock gaming x can be a real pain to get the RAM to sit in properly & 'click' in so that they are properly in so not sure about that I think once I have another RAM kit here I should be able to do more tests with memtest & see what that shows if anything different. If another RAM kit also shows similar errors I may have to get a different mobo also to test out also I guess.
  4. Without a use case to trigger it I tried anyway for about 40 minutes & it didn't appear to happen. Thanks to all for the your replies also. I let memtest86 run for 1 hour & at test 4 it showed 25 errors so I think it is the RAM sticks themselves. I am thinking of replacing them for these Corsair CMK32GX4M2A2666C16 Vengeance LPX 32 GB (2 x 16 GB) DDR4 2666 MHz C16 & getting intouch with G.Skill to RMA the current kit & may just ask for a refund depending on their response. I need a decent kit asap as this is my main PC I use for work it's difficult going 1 day without this PC so I'm sure you can understand my need for another 32gb kit asap ;). Should the corsair kit I linked to be able to run atleast @2666 MHz on my PC ?: CPU: Ryzen 1600 Mobo: asrock gamigX X370 BIOS 3.20 RAM: 32GB G.Skill TridentZ @2666mhz GPU: GTX 1070 evga sc 2 samsung evo ssd's (256gb & 500gb)
  5. All checked & look fine & checking the drive didn't report back any errors. The BSOD is completely random also so it makes trying to find a use case for it impossible. I was hoping the dump file may show exactly what triggered it but I'm not sure how to read it properly.
  6. Hello I have been getting these annoying BAD_POOL_HEADER BSOD's in windows 10 & not sure what the root cause of it could be. Can someone please take a look at the dump file & help me out please ? Link to file https://drive.google.com/open?id=1TG5j2dL9dOnjQe75mfouQRlkhjmBRCjz Thanks Specs: My current PC: CPU: Ryzen 1600 Mobo: asrock gamigX RAM: 32GB G.Skill TridentZ @2666mhz GPU: GTX 1070 evga sc 2 samsung evo ssd's (256gb & 500gb)
  7. Thanks I'll consider these. I always like to give my PC that little extra room incase I add more to it so I usually pick around 650watt depending on what is available. I agree though the 750w maybe abit overkill for this I'm also thinking of the dimensions of the unit with the case I have & the quality (higher tier than my current psu). If anyone else has some more recommendations please feel free to post them as long as they aren't too big for my case
  8. Hello, My current PC build https://uk.pcpartpicker.com/list/HVbq29 My current PSU Dimensions 150 x 86 x 160 (WxHxD) https://www.scan.co.uk/products/620w-seasonic-m12-ii-evo-edition-full-modular-80plus-bronze-sli-crossfire-single-rail-48a-120mm-fan The PSU I was considering replacing my current one with https://uk.pcpartpicker.com/list/4JBwfH shows a issue concerning the size of it not buy much but still something to consider before buying. My case https://www.scan.co.uk/products/fractal-design-define-c-mid-tower-computer-chassis-atx-matx-mitx-with-window-moduvent-technology-2x1?utm_source=pc part picker&utm_medium=referral The new PSU (I may choose the 650w option) Dimensions 150 x 86 x 170 (WxHxD) https://www.scan.co.uk/products/750w-be-quiet!-straight-power-11-full-modular-80-plus-gold-sli-crossfire-quad-rail-625a-135mm-fan-at or dimensions 19.3 x 15 x 8.6 cm https://www.amazon.co.uk/quiet-BN251-Dark-Power-Supply/dp/B014QT9J5M/ref=pd_sbs_147_3/259-1792376-3581932?_encoding=UTF8&pd_rd_i=B014QT9J5M&pd_rd_r=02c7bc9e-2182-11e9-9599-f7e3d20a9d9c&pd_rd_w=txfCb&pd_rd_wg=epqZM&pf_rd_p=18edf98b-139a-41ee-bb40-d725dd59d1d3&pf_rd_r=KXAS4613PXWFT4GWDSZC&psc=1&refRID=KXAS4613PXWFT4GWDSZC#customerReviews So I'm curious on recommendations on what PSU to choose that would fit ok in this case ? I am looking really to add a higher tier PSU than my current seasonic m12ii evo 620w which doesn't make too much noise. Some others I was thinking about https://www.scan.co.uk/products/700w-be-quiet!-pure-power-11-cm-semi-modular-80plus-gold-sli-crossfire-dual-rail-56a-120mm-fan-atx-p https://www.amazon.co.uk/EVGA-SuperNOVA-PLATINUM-Modular-220-P2-0750-X3/dp/B011RGWZYE/ref=sr_1_1?s=computers&ie=UTF8&qid=1548520941&sr=1-1&keywords=EVGA+SuperNOVA+platinum Thoughts ? Thanks.
  9. Thanks I'll order & try out the usb one you linked to & see how it goes when testing it out.
  10. My current speed where I currently live is 50mbps down - 5mbps up which is fine for what I need & use it for. So the adapter I linked to should also be ok for PC1 I listed ? I just wanted to make sure I bought something that was compatible with the newer hardware as my PC2 is a lot older.
  11. Hello, I'm looking to see what options I have for my 2 PC's concerning connecting to a wifi signal. My situation is I may be moving soon to a new place & initially may only have a wifi signal to use so I am trying to prepare ahead of time. I currently only use a ethernet connection for both of them & have never needed to consider wifi adapters for either of these PC's. I'm not sure what to choose for PC1. For PC2 I was thinking this might be ok ? https://www.amazon.co.uk/PCE-N10-Wireless-wireless-connection-Software-x/dp/B004XFYGNK PC 1: CPU: Ryzen 1600 Mobo: asrock gamigX https://www.asrock.com/mb/AMD/Fatal1ty X370 Gaming X/index.us.asp RAM: DDR4 G.skill TridentZ @2800mhz GPU: GTX 1070 evga sc 2 samsung evo ssd's (256gb & 500gb) PSU: 620w seasonic PC 2: CPU: i5 3450 Mobo: MSI Z77A G45 https://www.msi.com/Motherboard/support/z77ag45 RAM: Corsair DDR3 16GB @1600mhz GPU GTX 970 1 ssd & 1 HDD PSU: 620w seasonic Any recommendations ? Thanks. P.S I hope I posted this in the right area if not could a mod move this to the correct area.
  12. Just to reply to this I went ahead & bought them just after Christmas & so far they have been running fine with no issue @2800mhz in my build. Thanks.
  13. Hello all, My current PC: CPU: Ryzen 1600 Mobo: asrock gamigX RAM: Corsair vengeance 16gb @2666mhz GPU: GTX 1070 evga sc 2 samsung evo ssd's (256gb & 500gb) I am looking for some help & opinions on a ram upgrade I want to do I currently have 16gb but want to get a 32gb kit that is compatible with this mobo & cpu preferably dual channel. Would this be compatible ? https://www.amazon.co.uk/G-SKILL-TridentZ-F4-2800C14D-32GTZ-32GB-Memory/dp/B0171GQP6S/ref=sr_1_11?s=computers&ie=UTF8&qid=1519219133&sr=1-11&keywords=G.SKILL+32gb On the asrock site I cannot see it listed in the compatibility list https://www.asrock.com/mb/AMD/Fatal1ty%20X370%20Gaming%20X/index.us.asp#Memory I'm not too sure on budget right now just looking at options on what is available. Any help is appreciated thanks in advance!
  14. Ah you are correct its late here in the UK But yeah I'm looking for a atx tower build not mini itx
  15. Sorry for not being more clear. 16gb would be a minimum as I sometimes host local servers for 2 games for co-op& MP with some friends. 8gb would be too low.
