  1. So, finally got it working without flickering: The flickering was noticeably worse when i had the second monitor plugged it. I tried using another monitor that has DP input instead of hdmi, and since then both screens work as expected, no flickering and g-sync compatible smoothness is indeed there when checked with the pendulum demo. I'm glad this is all over now :P
  2. I presumed that, since it seems to be working with the majority of other owners, there had to be an issue. Will test it out with a buddy's amd card. At least if freesync works i can try to resell it to an amd gpu user
  3. Yup, but the tearing is atrocious. I am keeping it off when using wsl, working etc and turning it on for games. Temporary workaround that makes the flickering stop temporarily (with g-sync on) is to alt+tab to a youtube browser window, play a video, fullscreen it, exit fullscreen, pause video, return to game and then the flickering goes away for half an hour or so, but it comes back again and i find myself redoing these steps
  4. Was trying to, and it is hit or miss. Mostly miss, as it works for 5 mins, but then it starts flickering after a loading screen or after a map reset
  5. I am in belgium and my bank says that they do not cover this (and that their charge back is only for credit cards, as it comes with online purchase insurance )
  6. Well, that is not happening they said, as i paid with debit (foolishly now, I see)
  7. This is a thing that can be done? I didn't use paypal, but paid with a bank transfer. This is news to me, I did not know this was a thing that can be done. How does this work? I go to the bank and say "Hey they shipped me a lemon but they dont wanna refund. You take monitor. You give me refund" and they will be like, "Totally"?
  8. I recently bought this monitor from banggood: https://www.banggood.com/Original-XIAOMI-Curved-Gaming-Monitor-34-Inch-21-9-Bring-Fish-Screen-144Hz-High-Refresh-Rate-1500R-Curvature-WQHD-3440+1440-Resolution-121-pencent-sRGB-Wide-Color-Gamut-Free-Sync-Technology-Display-p-1582948.html?akmClientCountry=GR&rmmds=search&p=4Y14111627933201505V&custlixnkid=642171&ID=224&cur_warehouse=ES Unfortunately, it came with a flickering problem whenever I run any directX application (games, sonic pi, WSL etc) so I asked to return it. Today, I thought I would finally be given the return instructions. Sadly, (after previously being told to go to a "local shop and try to repair it, we will cover the repair cost") this is their last email reply: "Thank you for your email and order X. We deeply apologize for what happened with the item and thank you very much for your feedback on this matter. To resolve this issue, would you accept to receive a refund 70€ and you can keep the item? We hope for your understanding on this matter and look forward to receiving your reply. Best regards, Yina" I am absolutely stumped. Has anyone had any such dealings with banggood before or have any advice in going forward? I don't wanna go ballistic on this person (ask for manager etc) and risk being stuck with this 500 euro useless block...
  9. I got one and I am in the process or trying to return it. In my case, I am using a 1070 ti and g-sync seems to not work too well in my case, even though it shows up as ok in the nvidia control panel. There is a flickering on the top right of the monitor on some games. Almost always happens when below 100fps, but sometimes even at 144 in some games (dota). Weirdest part so far is that the contact person with banggood told me to try and take it to a local shop to see if it can be repaired and they would cover it. It feels a bit dodgy that they don't automatically offer to replace it or reimburse it :/
  10. Just out of curiosity, last night I checked the project number that was running and it was indeed the/a covid project. Today though, the cause has switched to cancer (again, on "any disease"). My understanding was that "any disease" would default to corona projects for the coming weeks. Did i miss something?
  11. Sorry, have been away for a couple of weeks. This is the keyboard in question. The driver that comes with the keyboard does not have a FN lock setting. Esc+Fn doesnt work either. https://eu-shop.fnatic.com/products/rush-led-blacklit-mechanical-pro-gaming-keyboard-with-mx-cherry-switches Im pretty stumped
  12. I built it: i5 7600 gtx 1070ti windforce noctua NHL strix B250F mobo bequiet 550W psu 16 Gb ram WD 498Gb ssd Seagate 2Tb hdd I have checked in the bios, there is no Fn/Multimedia key setting, the drivers are up to date, have uninstalled and reinstalled them also.
  13. So basically, all of the F1-F12 multimedia keys only function if you press Fn + the equivalent F button of the media setting you want to adjust. I do not mind this when i am working, but when i am not I use them quite a lot. Having to press the Fn key every time is tedious now. Strange thing is even my PrintScreen doesnt work. It doesnt even open the new shitty windows snipping tool like it is supposed to (according to the checked box in keyboard settings under Ease of Access). I should probably say I am using windows 10 and have the relevant drivers updated. Any help or insight is much appreciated
