  1. It won't let me upgrade from boot. So it won't work However, to do a fresh install I will then need to format a hard drive, wouldn't I?
  2. Hi, Before I get started, yes, the problem I am having is probably my fault for uber laziness so no need to be unhelpful with my current issue by stating the obvious and with that out of the way.. I've been in an update loop for... probably years? It never concerned me until one of my games became somewhat effected by the windows version I do have... ..1607.. It had tried to install 1803 many, many times and failed. It just constantly updates 1607 on a loop. So I got myself a key, because i didn't bother activating it because I never had to and just grinded until now. I used windows update assistant to download 1909, i get the blah blah "this PC is running version 1607. The latest version is 1909. Please download the newest update." blah Now I'm trying to get version 1909 as a possible fix for my game. However I will download it, install the update and then let windows do its' thing. I'll jump back on. No "failed to install" message, nothing. I will then double check Update Assistant, and low and behold I'll get the same Update assistant message as before "this PC is running version 1607. The latest version is 1909." What am I doing wrong here? If i need to do a fresh install, is there a really good tutorial (preferably a video so I can watch it on my phone). What's a man gotta do to get an update 'round 'ere? im attaching images of what I see all the time, you will also notice that it asks to update to 1803 when it's suppose to be 1909.
  3. Hey guys. so basically I just disconnected the modem to reset the IPv4 address. It changed the IP address, which should render the last one useless to both the edges hacker and ISP?
  4. How often do Dynamic IPs generally change? (ISP irrelevant)
  5. Fair point dude, though I’m thinking of getting my IP changed. Reckon it’s worth the time?
  6. True, but he reckons he’s got some dirt. Again he could be speaking out of his arse, but if he can truly find my comments like he claims, idk what he found ? Though, should I ask my ISP to change my IP in case he does have it?
  7. I’m mostly concerned because he’s reporting my YouTube Comments as terrorism... like really.... i believe he’s adding the terrorism part as a way to create a false flag, though. Like swatting. see what he did was put a link down, and me unwittingly decided to click it and boom, it was a guised link which he would had used to get my IP. Idk, he’s making vague threats but I’ve gotta take everything with a grain of salt. i should also add that he “screenshotted” them.
  8. Still though he managed to guess my ISP, so I’m not sure what he knows. I went into full lockdown, changed emails linked to (in this case, YouTube) and so fourth. I did, I even got a VPN (though if he has it, it kind of defeats the purpose). basically, he claims to have doxxed me. If this is true, what should I do aside from locking down all of my accounts security?
  9. Problem is he use a what I’ve heard some people call “a drive by” link. Basically a faked page that you load up but may be redirected to a different page, being completely oblivious to it. So I’m not sure what has happened
  10. Had a typical YouTube argument and I accidentally clicked on a phishing link. He claims to have my IP and threatened to report comments from my history (8 years of history) to my alleged ISP. I honestly don’t know what he’s reporting as I can’t remember every YouTube comment I’ve made. any ideas on what I should do? Should I call my ISP? If so what do I say?
  11. I think that it could be Coil Whine, I may just have to set a limit to the FPS so the power isn't so stressed. Though I'll see how it goes, if nothing budges perhaps I might need to take it to a shop (though that'll be the LAST option, I much prefer to fix it myself or with the help of other enthusiasts). A shame really as it took me and a while mate to fix a booting issue (Mobo was reading the HDD but wasn't giving it a boot option). I'm still learning but building PC's is a fun thing to do, it's kind of like (excuse the generic metaphor), working on a car
  12. Well I hope you are right, I actually just came accross Linus' video back in 2013 of it and it sounds exactly the same. I believe you're on the ball, however it REALLY does sound like it is coming from the CPU and not GPU, but then again sounds especially those in a high pitch, ESPECIALLY in a metal case can deceive the origins of said sound. I'm very reluctant at doing anything like that as I'm much too inexperienced to play around with things like that as I'm still a Noive.
  13. but it doesn't sound like a fan noise to me, it honestly has a similarity with a dial up sound. It's conserning to me mostly because if something fails then I have no warranty as I put the thing together.
