  1. Couple things you should check and since I am going to work I'll give you a couple. Locate your steam folder such as> C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam Then locate the steam.exe > Right click it > "properties" > "Unblock" if this button is present it located above "Apply" if it doesn't exist then don't worry about it > Then click apply if the button existed > then move forward to the next steps > Go to "Compatible" Panel in the top then enable "run as admin", And "Visuale thema's", And "DPI", > apply > now go to "Security" > Click the "Edit" button tick all users to "Full control", And Apply > Apply again and ok. This should run steam correctly and without issues in most instances, If it still happens, Create short cut or edit an existing steam shortcut by going to it's properties and enter the following things. In the first input box, That has the shortcut destination enter: -console -developer -forceservice -noverifyfiles -clearbeta Example: "C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\Steam.exe" -console -developer -forceservice -noverifyfiles -clearbeta And it should work as intended if it doesn't work I would love to help you further. But I will be back in 8 hours.
  2. Hi, Is this only with your current steam account or does this also accrue with a new steam account, (Aka steam user profile settings is stored in your profile)
  3. I've seen that yea, But "Coffer lake" and "Kaby" Are code names before they get the actual names such as I7 5660 XE etc,
  4. :feelsbadman: I am a sellout, I am waiting for the I9 8th generation chip with hyperthreading and hopefully overclocking, Or I might wait for the new gen GPU's since Volta is coming out 2080 ti soon(TM)
  5. That's set by the screen it self, Even if you produce more FPS, if your screens chips/motherboard/connector is limited to the 5 ms or 8 ms, (There are only a few true 1 ms motion monitors) Getting more frames per second doesn't make the response time go up because of the limitation of the screens hardware/connecters. From what i know the Zowie and Asus are the ones that produce the 1ms monitors, Not sure if there are others.
  6. DUMo says outdated when the original vendor says everything is updated, <.> I even updated realtek yesterday for Csgo, And it says outdated. Those are false positives to sell their product. I am a 100% sure I've all drivers updated because I've driver packs, And I'm on an outdated system which means I use legacy software and it supports has dropped yet this scammy Adware software will suggest "Hee new updates", Which are fake, I'm fully updated on drivers,
  7. Then my support ends here, I can't locate the problem origins, How do you measure your frames by the way?
  8. I dooon't.... It's adware... I can actually download it and show you it's false positives through a VM..
  9. Try a reset of the user account on that computer by deleting the folders in > C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\userdata Those are steam account folders that hold "Account" settings,
  10. Well if you don't use "Vsnyc" "Gsync" "FreeSync" and so, Then it makes up for the frames missing by making more frames in the interval, For the rest its like you said, There's no notable difference at 144 fps and you put out 300 frames per second, Even with the stated tech above it's still going to be 144 frames per second that's the choke point the screen. Even without the tech stated above your still limited to 144 frames with a 144-hertz screen not more, but simply to explain what's the difference. 144 frames per second screen and you get 154 frames with the gpu there is a chance where you get 80-70 frames is shown because of the tick rate of the screen hertz and the gpu aren't in sync, There's why the GPU's provide a syncing mode to sync the gpu with the tick rate of the screen, There are games that actually speed up because you get more frames per-second, but that's a bug and it's nothing else, Multiplayer games like csgo will unsync with the server and will cause weird issues as people being somewhere when they aren't there so you shoot them and do no damage or your crashing or you have to wait for the server to catch up.
  11. Simply put, "Latest" people think the "Latest" tech will provide the best performance and is the best tech, even in most cases it's not true, but yea.. "Latest" is "new" and people get excited with its performance and its features that the new product might or will bring, It's exciting because its newer.
  12. Well, you can check every month or 3 for the most circular updates. So as your wireless device and stuff like realtec audio drivers but to be honest you only need to update them when you have issues like "Audio quality" "connection issues" and so on.. Then it's like a must, But yea... There's no real easy way, That's why Windows tries to automate it. Your GPU drivers has a simple "Click here to update" button, And intel chips have the intel: https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/support/detect.html Bios... Is a different thing thou and harder too keep track off.
  13. do you have MSI afterburner? Or any other applications like Nvidia panel for games? That might have a option to cap fps to 300-200, RivaTunner added to MSI afterburner had an option to cap fps to 200fps.
  14. Don't get software called "Driver booster" or any of the "Auto Driver updaters" They get versions of drivers not listed by the vendors and can be malicious impact performance or be data mining or use your computer for a botnet/bitmining. Get updates from your respected device vendors, and from your windows update. Just saying for your own safety, The guy above me kinda already gave the right info, I am just stating this because people are fooled and tricked all the time by the "easy one in all solutions" when they are fake. They are freeware/malicious solutions.
