It says speed is 100.0Mbps

My Internet speeds are significantly lower when my computer is plugged into my router via ethernet than it is when plugged directly into the modem. Is this normal? When plugged into the router, speedtest.net has my download speed at 94.75 mbps. When plugged directly into the modem, my download speed is at 120.34 mbps. Ping and upload speed are almost the same. Is this a normal loss in speed from the router, or do I just need a better router?
