What laptop model is it?
I assume that picture isn't from the laptop as it says completed successfully. Did you run CMD as administrator when you tried?
EDIT: Also, what else have tried to disable it? Did you go straight to registry keys?
The computer is an Asus x54c.
I opened cmd via the windows botton+r interface. I don't know if that runs the program as administrator.
We've tried using the function key to turn the airplane mode back off.
We've restarted the laptop a couple of times.
The problem with it is that the airplane botton is grayed out, as if it wasn't turned on.

I'm not expecting a Windows reinstallation / reset to solve what otherwise is a hardware related issue. The only exception to that is if you've recently upgraded the chipset drivers that might be buggy, but I seriously doubt that to be the case or other people would be having the same issue.
I'll buy a new drive and reinstall.
Thank you for your help.

If the CPU is overheating, it will shutdown as a fail-safe to protect it from permanent damage. So check your thermals.

Does it happen during light tasks like browsing the web?
Or does any high end game always trip it?
You can run memtest86 on a usb drive to verify the issue.
If stress tests crash it I agree with the above get a software to monitor temps and power draw to see if temps go high for CPU or GPU or only when power spikes if it reboots.Thank you for your replies. I tried keeping the side panel off, and the crashing stopped. I think some of the cables from my PSU got stuck in the CPU cooler.
It still wipes the drive whenever I turn it on though. It keeps some apps, f.x. Steam is still installed but discord isn't, but seems to wipe all settings, including saves passwords.
Before I buy a new drive I want to try and reset Windows completely, to see if it fixes the problem. The problem is that I can't open up my settings.
Do you know how to get around that?
Thanks again.

Hey everyone
My has started randomly powering off while I'm using it.
It used to wipe the drive whenever I turned it off, so I tried it see if any of my old drives still worked so I could replace the one already in it. They didn't.
After I've put it back together it has started shutting itself off randomly, and if take forever to boot afterwards. The windows bottons on the home screen also aren't working.
Anyone know what's what's wrong with it?
I'm running an x4350 with a RX 570, 16 GB of non ecc ram and a 500 GB HDD, on a H55 board.
On an unrelated note, how far would I be able to downgrade in terms of graphics card without a bottleneck? I've been thinking off flipping it while the prices are up.
Thanks!

Hello!
I'm having some trouble setting up my brother's PS3, as the controller's won't connect.
Ive tried connecting by plugging the controller into the PS3, holding down the PS button, and pressing the little reset button on the back.
I think my cable might be broken, or maybe I'm just doing it wrong.
Any help is appreciated

As long as the drives haven't failed you shouldn't have any problems really.
I'd recommend getting an external dock for hard drives (they're always useful, WHEN you need them)
Since you're from DK take a look here: CLICK ME.
That seems like a way better idea than getting a whole new drive.
How would I go about changing my bootdrive? Could I use the dock to move my OS directly to the SSD, or will I need to delete it and reinstall on the SSD afterwards?

I have a failed PC with a 1TB harddrive and a 128 GB SSD.
I want to backup all of my personal data from those drives to my new PC, containing only a 500 GB HDD, and then use the old drives in my new PC, with the SSD as a Bootdrive.
Logically I've come to the conclusion that I'll need an external drive for the data, but other than that I'm not sure on how to do it.
How would you guys go about it, and what should I watch out for/ avoid?

Anytime!
I really hope you meant that, because I don't understand this nearly as much as I thought.
I was trying to boot into safemode, and it looks like it'll remove all my programs and settings, including my games, which I would really hate to have to redownload. Is there a way around this?

Yes, that's it. I should have put a link in my post for you but yeah that's all you'll need and the correct drivers downloaded.
Thank you, I'll give it a shot

Pretty much, DDU is Display Driver Uninstaller and it removed all components of the graphics drivers that normal uninstallation may not get.
Is this the program? https://www.guru3d.com/files-details/display-driver-uninstaller-download.html

I would DDU the drivers when switching graphics cards. DDU and perform the shutdown option (installing new graphics card) option when using DDU in safe mode. Then swap the cards and power on the system to test. Install a copy of compatible drivers from Nvidia's website for the GTX 1060. Once you determine the card is good, go back through safe mode and DDU and swap the cards out with the RX 470.
Overall, pretty straightforward process.
I don't know what DDU means.
Let me see if you've got this right: DDU, turn off the PC, Put the new card into the PC, boot up the system again, and install drivers for the 1060. And then afterwards just to the same thing for the RX 470?
I'm running a Xeon chip, will i be able to use the output on the card before i install the drivers?

What graphics card are you testing?
Sorry, I forgot to say. It's a 1060.

Hello.
I'm in the process of selling a graphics card, a GTX 1060, from my PC that failed.
I'm going to test it on my extra PC, but it's currently running a RX 470.
How do I go about changing them, and what will I need to do with the drivers?
Thank you.

CPU 4 or 8 pin EPS connector
Not sure what the difference is.
It's spilt into 2x4 connectors, and the plug is on the top left corner of the motherboard.

I did, yes.

Hello.
My PC of 3 years has recently stopped working.
From my previous post here it seemed to be the PSU.
I am now troubleshooting it with a spare PSU.
I have connected the 12 pin, the 4 and a 6 pin to the GPU.
I've also connected the drives with Sata data and Data Power.
Am I missing something?
Cheers,
-Daniel

It's unlikely that your data has been harmed, but it is possible. You can remove the drives and plug them into another system to recover your data.
I don't have another pc on hand at the moment, I'll test it when I get my backup PC delivered.
Thank you for your help.

Unfortunately that is bad news. Likely the power supply died, and it may have taken other components down with it. Do you smell a dusty burning smell coming from the system?
RIP
I do. That's a shame.
Do you happen to know my options for data recovery?

What happens when you press the power switch? I assume nothing at all?
Exactly. It's as if it doesn't have power.

Hello everyone.
I've got a prebuilt PC, that I've been using for around 3.
I went to turn in on today, and it just won't do it.
At first I thought it might have been a tripped the switch in my extension cord, so I switched it to my wall socket.
This unfortunately didn't work.
I've tried to flick the PSU power button to both sides, because tbh I can't remember which is which.
Last I used it was yesterday or the day before that.
Any help is appreciated.

Du burde helt klart tjekke brugtmarkedet. Du kan finde nogle fine, om lidt outdatede, budgetcomputere på f.eks. facebook salgsgrupper, eller i mindre grad DBA.

Hello all
I recently saw an ad for cheap 3 month Disney+ vouchers. I did a bit of research and found out that they're being offered to Deutsche Telekom subcribers for free.
Disney Plus released in Denmark last month, and therefore the hype is still fairly strong. Which made me think about selling these subcribtions onto Danish costumers, though something læike Facebook marketplace.
Do any of you have any ideas regarding this, specifically about the legality of it.
(I am in Denmark, not a company, and not salestax registered)
Cheers!

Hey
I just got my new earbuds, the Xiaomi Redmi Airdots.
Form what I've been able to read in the manual, they should turn off when in the charging case.
Despite that, they keep connecting to my phone, and forcing my speaker off.
Anyone tried something similar or know how to deal with it?
Cheers!

MSI Nightblade won't turn on
in Troubleshooting
Posted
Hey everyone,
I bought my little brother a MSI Nightblade B85C-056EU used a couple of weeks ago.
It brought it over to my parents house, set it up and installed some games on it.
He called me today to tell me that it doesn't turn on anymore. No boot, lights or noise whatsoever.
I've got them checking to see if the connector for the power on button somehow got loose at the moment.
Any idea what this might be?
