  1. Hey, so I just recently got a new headset (SteelSeries Arctis 5) and ever since I've noticed issues with my audio and the software settings for the mic to adjust bass, volume, mic volume, etc. didn't work or do anything at all. A few days later I woke up and my PC audio just didn't work at all? I restarted the software and it seemed to be fine. Today, I unplugged it and plugged it back in and the volume got very quiet and I adjusted all the Windows settings and headset settings and it was still just way quieter than before, now my PC audio is gone again and all video (YouTube, Twitch, Netflix, etc.) run at like 2FPS for some reason. This has never happened before. Any ideas on what's going on?

  2. I just downloaded a fresh installation of Windows 10 Home onto my SSD and when everything was set up, I boot up into Windows a number of things have gone wrong. First, my taskbar is light theme and I am using the free, unactivated version of Windows so I can't change it in the personalize settings. Second, the Windows button at the very bottom left corner of the screen does absolutely NOTHING. Not even the Windows key on my keyboard makes it do anything. Should I reinstall Windows?

There's really no way to separate your operating system from your drive by itself and leave the programs. The best way to do it is reinstall Windows and all your programs. It's a pain but it's all you can do.

So, I uninstall Windows and Reinstall it on my SSD, but what about my HDD? I want to have all my files on my HDD but my Windows on my SSD.

  4. Last year I bought an SSD and I don't really know how to put my windows from my HDD to my SSD while still having all my applications/games from my HDD, so it's been sitting in my PC unplugged for months now. I finally decided to try to switch it with guides off YouTube but they haven't really worked, it would just boot me into my HDD like normal. I tried getting applications from these guides that switched my Windows but they haven't worked either. If anyone could guide me through it or find a decent in depth video for me, I'd appreciate it a lot., Thanks. If it helps at all, here are my specs:

    AMD Ryzen 3 1200 3.1 GHz Quad-Core Processor

ASRock AB350M-HDV Micro ATX AM4 Motherboard

    G.Skill Aegis 16 GB (2 x 8 GB) DDR4-3000 Memory

Western Digital Caviar Blue 1 TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive

SanDisk SSD PLUS 120 GB 2.5" Solid State Drive

EVGA GeForce GTX 970 4 GB ACX 2.0+ Video Card

    Corsair CXM (2015) 450 W 80+ Bronze Certified Semi-modular ATX Power Supply
  5. Hello. My microphone was really low when plugged into the back port on my motherboard, but worked fine on the front port on my computer, So I decided to install Realtek drivers online. After the installation and restart of my PC, I couldn't hear anything. No audio. I was thinking on formatting and re installing Windows but I don't want to lose my files. Also when I plug in my headphones the speakers work and when I disconnect the headphones no audio. Also in the audio devices there is only one available, "Speakers" when before I had more for the headphones. Is there nay way of fixing this? Can I uninstall the drivers and reinstall?

Thats pretty odd. Most motherboards are smart enough to know if there is no CPU installed and will beep at you for "Incompatible or no CPU" errors. May be a bad CPU or bent pin in the motherboard socket.

Update: I’ve put the RAM in a different slot and I’ve reaseted the cpu and cleaned some dust off of it. The PC booted, and took me to the automatic repair screen, tried diagnosing for a bit and said the automatic repair couldn’t help me, so I could eairhwr shut off the pc or go into advanced options, I chose advanced options and chose to completely wipe my drive. Don’t know if it will help.

  7. Hello. So I’ve had this PC for a few months now and one day it stopped working for some reason. It turns on but there is no display and the fans spin. I tried different GPUs and a different PSU and different RAM sticks but nothing seemed to work. I have a speaker in the system and there are no beep codes when I start it up. I removed the RAM and there were 5 long beeps. I placed the RAM back in. I removed the CPU and the RAM and powered on, but there were no beeps. I then placed back the CPU and there were the 5 long beeps indicating no RAM, so it would only beep when the CPU was installed, so is the CPU dead? Btw yes I did make sure motherboard power and CPU power were properly connected and the GPU and RAM were properly seated.

  8. My PC turns on but nothing is on my monitor. I’ve used my PC fine for almost a year with no problems and out of nowhere my PC’s motherboard died. I ordered a brand new one but nothing appears on my monitor. I send an RMA for the motherboard but still the same problem. I tested my PSU, GPU, it’s not my motherboard nor hard drives. I’m quite sure it’s not RAM but I’m not 100% sure. The only culprit could be my CPU but I’m still not convinced that’s it. My CPU works perfect for months so I don’t think it’ll just randomly stop working. Please help. Thanks.

I had the same issue and not having spare parts to swap and test to pinpoint the problem part (motherboard, CPU or memory basically we are screwed. I tried it all…

In my opinion it is a faulty Motherboard, but if like mine yours is second hand… no warranty.

Good luck and I hope you managed to sort it out. I given up on my project since I blew my money in this project and haven’t got any more money to sort it out.

    My post about the issue:

Thank you. I actually have a 1 year warranty so should I send it back and test with a new motherboard?

  10. I got a new motherboard today and I plugged everything in and my PC boots, but there’s no signal to my monitor. I’ve tried a different graphics card, a different monitor, reseating my parts and cables, different HDMI cables, and I’ve been trying to figure this out for hours. I don’t know if my motherboard is faulty or my CPU is dead. I made sure everything was in the right place. There is one thing, my USB 3.0 header doesn’t fit for some reason. I don’t know if that has anything to do with the boot. Someone please take the time to help me out. Thank you.
