  1. Just received from Logitech the G Bridge keyboard which using the Vive Tracker brings the keyboard into VR. See the promo video It's surreal to be able to look down in VR and easily use your keyboard like you would outside VR and a must try if you get the chance. Mechanical Keyboard +1 with that new keyboard slightly more rubberized key caps which I am on the fence about. I still prefer my Code keyboard (87-Key) for my setup (see below), but I have to give Logitech a bonus point for doing a good step towards having a desktop experience in VR. I added a picture to my desk build page https://warpedimagination.com/projects/deskbuild.html and VR setup page https://warpedimagination.com/projects/vrsetup.html
  2. @IAmOctonaut this page goes through a lot of the points I took into consideration when building the desk. The room you see used to be a bedroom of my house and the desk is where the old closet used to be. Where the rig sits was actually a wall and I knocked holes through it to create the enclosed style shelving. The end is actually still the original beam that I covered and built around. Looking left at the desk here is a picture part way through the construction Compared to the finished product in this picture My main advice is plan everything and if you can even jot it up in 3D ... and the best of luck to you. If you have any questions do please feel free to ask.
  3. My eye line is between the top bezel and the middle of my main monitor (so about 3/4 the way up) .. I find it kinda depends how far away you sit from your monitors as well. Last ergonomic human resources check up (when I worked in an office) once told me that because its less effort and you have more freedom of movement for the head to tilt down than up its the ideal location .. but its what feel best to you and wont destroy your neck and posture over time. Here is my monitor setup if it helps The top one is mainly for choosing my next Spotify track or having YouTube build videos on when I am working. The two side monitors are for portrait views of my code. The desk height is aligned with me sitting up straight and 90 degree angles at the elbows, feet resting on the floor, knees at 90 degree angles.
  4. I finally got around to writing up (at the request of friends from my local LA meetup) a development write up on my built in desk and VR setup that is ported through the ceiling of my home office Here are the links VR Setup & Rig Desk Build & Computer Spec After many many iterations I found it the most cable free solution for room based VR gaming and development, with so little pull on the player they barely notice the wires. I added a quick pano for people to be able to look around as well Room Pano I hope this helps others looking to create a similar solution ... and if anyone has any questions let me know as I am trying to make this write up as informative as possible for others
