I've had similar issues with MSI GTX 1070/Asus VG248QE. Usually issue has been solved by unplugging the power from monitor for a few minutes. This time thought, that didn't work. Only when I plugged monitor with HDMI, DisplayPort got a signal and actually pc detected DP as secondary monitor. Just wanted to share if someone knows that is there any way to get rid of these issues.
