Is my Noctua NH-d15 fan in a correct placement on am4?
FoxfireAhri replied to FoxfireAhri's topic in Cooling
Im using a 1700x Ryzen processor -
ever since I I had my pc built for almost one year now, Im still suffering low frame rates in all games, except some like overwatch, doom and etc. But I have been getting FPS lag spikes a lot, going from 110fps down to 30 fps, and other games being consistently low while still spiking. My GPU I found out does not seem to the problem at all. When I idle my CPU is 44C. In videos on other noctua nh-d15 fans on the AM4 motherboard, I noticed it was faced this way <------- but mine is faced up ^, when I was putting in the mounting tools, it was the only one I could use to put on the am4 X370 Taichi motherboard. no other mounting tools could help

CPU FPS lag spike with the 1700x
FoxfireAhri replied to FoxfireAhri's topic in CPUs, Motherboards, and Memory
The temperature was not a problem at all, and there was NOTHING , absolutely NOTHING GOING ON, im going up towards in a linear way looking at the same place, and there are FPS spikes. And no kidding that fps drops when there are things rendering, im talking about SPIKES, there is a reason why trhere is a HUGE delay time when 180 fps jumps down to 60 fps.... You call that natural fps drops?... they are so instantaneous that they are considered SPIKES, SPIKES -
Its extremly annoying for me to play games like CS GO, League, and other single player games, where I get an FPS lag spike, CS GO jump down from 180 fps to 110 fps, Metro down to 60-70 fps from 160-200 fps, and etc etc. Except for games like Overwatch for I do not know what reason.... The games do not run smooth at all when there is always these FPS spikes happening, did I do something wrong with my Thermal paste on the CPU? Or is it my Noctua fan placement that I have it blowing up inside of it being side ways? Same thing has happend to me with my A10 7700k, and no its not my GPU, I had owned and change 3 different GPUs, the old AMD card I forgot, the Rx 470 and gtx 1080ti, and there are still FPS lag spikes so it must be the CPU, but no other Ryzen owners had this problem !

My Cpu temperature for my Ryzen 1700x is at 42-43c when idleing, is that normal? I am using a high tier cooler which is the Noctua NH-D15, and from other comments I have seen, people had said they have gotten way lower temperatures than what I have, around 30c with their Noctua fan and 1700x, why is that? Also im not even overclocked either... im running this chip at 3.5 ghz

It asked me to save profile and now I get no lighting effects now......., and I still don't see any firmware, except for "update" which I already got my latest update

I have a CUE software downloaded, and I have done nothing to it

Once or twice each day, when I use the volume scroll wheel on my keyboard, the volume goes all the way down to mute, despite I only scroll a bit down, while I try to scroll it back up to how it normally was it wouldnt respond, and then my RGB LED's start to freeze, while im not able to type anything, the only solution to this was, unplugging both my USB's connected to my motherboard, and plugging it back in. This only happens whenever I use the volume scroll wheel on the k95 once or twice or even three times each day that it freezes up.

7700k vs 8700k or other
FoxfireAhri replied to MrAlbertrocks's topic in CPUs, Motherboards, and Memory
7700k is the worst purchase, its a slight optimization for the 6700k, and people had said it has the most heat problems out of all other previous Intel chips, 8700k is cooler than the 7700k and its unique for once, since intel has been using quad core for the past decade.........
