  1. Hi guys I'm having a bizarre in windows vista 32 bit where I can't seem to install any browser other than chrome, and it doesn't work right either When I try to use chrome it gives me constant security warnings because obviously vista isn't supported anymore, and it won't let me download nvidia drivers I click download and it just keeps loading It lets me download firefox and opera browser installers, but whenever I click on those (as admin or not) it shows the windows loading thing for a sec and then acts like nothing happened I just want to use a browser on my old gaming rig but I can't get it to work. I have XP on another drive in this same PC and that works just fine. Any help would be greatly appreciated
  2. For what reason? Idc much either way, i just want it to be able to play older games but I'm curious
  3. It's not just about performance I want all the parts to be period correct for a windows vista or 7 machine that i can also install xp on just for the experience I just enjoy playing games like crysis on xp eventho it doesn't really matter
  4. Hi guys I found a 9800gtx+ for €10 near me and have been seriously thinking of buying it to upgrade my retro gaming rig with 2gb ddr2 and a q6600 Should I hold out for a bit and try to find a deal on gtx 280/60 or get the 9800gtx +? Really just want something to play everything from half life to bioshock to gta 4 on at 1080p. Also I have to upgrade my psu with all of those but whatever I'd like to hear your opinions Thanks
  5. Hi guys I found a cheap antec high current pro 750 watt modular psu, but the seller doesn't have the modular cables anymore. Does anyone know where I can get cables for the PSU? Thanks for your advice
  6. That's very nice of you, thanks
  7. Hi guys I did something very stupid today I hooked up an i3 2100 and r9 270x to a 430w psu. For a few days I just did heavy gaming and used heaven/furmark and aida64 to do stress tests. Everything seemed perfectly fine. According to reviews the r9 270x with an overclocked i7 would never pull above 390 watts, so I thought it was OK to use an HP 430W unit. Today I ran OCCT and AIDA at the same time. Vram and gpu tests were perfectly stable. Then I tried the power test.... It ran fine for about 10 minutes, at which point I thought OK must be good then, but then it suddenly shut off. I thought OK must be too much for the PSU, but I hadn't expected it to make a POP noise, smoke, and see blue electric shocks from the back of my case. It was so catastrophic in fact that it had managed to shut off all electricity to the upstairs part of my house. Now I've put a 460 Watt Delta unit from an HP workstation in it, which according to what I've read is a very reliable psu and ran some games. It worked fine. I then ran the OCCT power test for a minute and got scared it was gonna blow up too. What should I do guys? The reason I was testing the PC is because I want to sell it for a small profit, but I would never ever sell something that doesn't work well and could potentially be dangerous. Any idea where I could find decent (used) 500+ Watt PSUs for cheap? Very sorry for the long post but the PSU imploding really scared me and I'm still on a bit of an adrenaline high. Thanks for reading and your advice.
  8. Hi guys, I have had gta 5 installed on a network drive for over a year now and every once in a while it just decides it doesn't want to work anymore. My "server" is just a linux pc with a samba server and 2 large drives in it. Even when I launch gta from inside the installation folder and the RGL launches, it does nothing. When I click install in RGL and choose the network drive it says ok and then shows an error and I don't know how to fix it. Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks.
  9. I can't seem to find that one in the Netherlands The other ones are pretty good too, no?
  10. I can't find it for under 50 euros anywhere so that's not an option thanks for the recommendation anyway
  11. is it better than the harpoon pro rgb and g203 prodigy?
  12. Hi guys My cousin's turning 11 next week and he's been asking for a keyboard and mouse for a while now. He likes RGB stuff apparently so it would be good if I could find him some RGB peripherals. The budget is 40-50 euros at most. For the mouse, I thought a Logitech G203 Prodigy (also known as G102) would be good since it's well built and has a good sensor and isn't too big, but it isn't RGB. I also saw the Corsair Harpoon RGB, but I don't know if that one's much good in terms of sensor and build quality. He's pretty big for his age so he has almost average man hands. What other mouse would you recommend for him that costs under 30 euros? Preferably RGB. For the keyboard I thought a random, cheap RGB keyboard would be good since it doesn't really affect the gaming experience, and I don't expect him to do a lot of typing. Any suggestions for a keyboard that has real RGB lighting under 25 euros? Sorry for the long post. Thanks in advance for your advice
  13. yeah sorry i have tx650m gold bought last year i thought it was called the v2 oops
  14. Hi guys I made a post a while back about my tx650m being the loudest thing in my system at idle, which is still true, but it has definetely gotten louder and the fan is spinning faster than before and I cannot for the life of me figure out why. It's just loud and annoying It's loud enough that I can hear it whir a bit through earbuds, which wasn't the case before What should I do with it? Try to suck/blow out dust with a vacuum cleaner while holding the fan? And if that doesn't work? Thanks for your advice
  15. I tried that and it didnt work kek thanks anyway
  16. I dont get an option to choose an accent color
  17. Hi guys bit of a stupid question today My windows 10 install always had a black task bar and stuff with blue accents when changing volume or whatever Now after I installed wallpaper engine (now uninstalled) it changed to light grey, I then tried to change it back to dark grey/black with blue accents but I can't seem to make it work. It's a stupid unimportant thing, but it really bothers me. See pictures for context In the first picture the volume is black with blue, but the taskbar is also blue, which really annoys me for some reason In the second picture, they're all grey How do I get it black and blue again? Sorry for the dumb question and thanks in advance
  18. Is quad 12v rails not kinda janky?
  19. Sorry for seeing your reply so late What PSU would you recommend for quietness and value?
  20. Hi Guys I have an about 1.5 year old TX650M V2 Gold PSU, but I notice it's a bit loud when I say loud, I don't mean R9 290 loud, but it's more audible than a Wraith Spire under about 60% load (IIRC),but the PSU is at idle when making this much noise. I have no other fans on in my system at idle (except the ones on my Scythe Ninja 5 but they I can not hear those at all),but the TX650M fan seems quite a bit louder than it should be at idle. I cant find the amount of noise it is supposed to make anywhere either. If someone could record and submit the noise that their TXM PSU is making so I have some reference that would be very helpful. If mine happens to be louder than normal I guess I'll have to RMA the thing and hope I get one that's actually quiet
  21. Hi guys So my wraith spire cooler started making a very annoying and rather loud noise. Even when everything else in my PC is quiet, the spire makes an incredibly annoying grinding-ish noise like hrrrrrrrr It's not THAT bad when playing a game because it gets somewhat drowned out by the fans and coil whine from my 1070Ti, but it's enough to drive me mad when I just want to watch a Youtube video or whatever. Nothing is touching the cooler/fan and it's pretty clean. As I said, it's driving me nuts and I'd love it if someone could help me.
  22. Hi guys I'm working on an open air "case" for my PC. I'm wondering if it's a good idea to screw long screws with washers through the bottom of the wooden base that I'm going to use to put through my motherboard and use nuts with washers to hold the board in place. This way I can easily switch motherboard if need be or if I'm just testing something. Another thing I'd like some advice with is how to keep my videocard in place so it doesn't damage itself or my motherboard. I'll attach a model of my idea here too so you guys can look at it and hopefully give me some tips. TL;DR What's the best way to mount a motherboard on wood and still be able to easily swap it out, and how to keep videocard steady when mounting a motherboard on wood. Thanks for your advice everyone Edit: I used tinkercad.com to make my model. When I open the file on windows 10 inbuilt object viewer, the components aren't colour coded. wallmountpc.stl
  23. Hi guys I want to move my pc from my crappy case onto a homemade case to mount on my wall. The idea here is to build something that I can mount on the wall behind my desk and monitors, that looks nice, is compact, and that I can take off of the wall, pick up, and carry with me to a LAN party. I'm using an ATX motherboard and PSU with a large air cooler (Fuma 2) and a gigabyte 1070ti. I still want to be able to use my odd and put at least my ssd and one 3TB HDD in the system. Below are my base layout and some PC that fit the aesthetic I'm going for. If any of you could give me some suggestions or design/layout ideas I would really appreciate it. 7d522d1d4c928d688a00b7cadf1f4e31.jpeg.webp 7d522d1d4c928d688a00b7cadf1f4e31.jpeg.webp PC.glb PC.stl
  24. I tried playing with the fan curve but it's just loud What kind of fans would be good? For quietness and better performance?
  25. Hi guys So I want to upgrade my Ryzen 5 1600 cooler from the stock one since it's started making a lot more noise than it used to even though it is clean. I was thinking about something from Scythe as they are relatively cheap and well performing. I don't know if I should go for the Mugen 5 PCGH, Fuma 2 or Ninja 5. My priority is good temps, then noise. But noise is also very important. I plan to upgrade my cpu to a 3900X or 3700x sometime in the future and I would like the cooler to still be good enough. Which one of the three would be the best choice in my case? Also my GPU fans (gigabyte 1070tj 3 fan) are very loud, especially under load. I definitely do not have the money for water cooling, so I thought I should do a mod where I just put case fans on the heatsink, but I have no idea which fans would be best. I want to run the card with a mild overclock, with silence being the most important thing. Are there cheap 120mm fans that are silent and better than the 3 small fans that are on my card now? I've been looking around but I can't seem to really find any good fan reviews. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thank you.
