  1. Really?!? Could you do like a second of research?!? Now now wait a second what the hell are you talking about? Ok let's start this with a quick disclaimer. I know I am a huge pc nerd most of us are and Destiny 2 doesn't belong here yet. But this requires a post because I see no one talking about this. This is for the people that plan on playing Destiny 2 on pc and need to either buy a new pc or upgrade your current build. Ok let's start with the problem, Bungie didn't do their research for the specs on their This Week At Bungie. Ok what are you talking about they developed the game they should know the required specs. First of all DeeJ, the one of the only ones that posts the weekly updates, does not help develop the game to our knowledge he is just the Community Manager. Second of all they run the most balls to wall set up to develop the game on most likely all their pcs there I mean why wouldn't you. So they probably estimated the pc requirements. I mean it would require some man hours to be put in to get the proper and most accurate requirements, but why would you do that when you have basically your whole pc community asking for the requirements. I mean it would be good rep to release specs earlier but not if they aren't accurate. I mean most people won't notice because they just listen to the specs listed and go accordingly. It's one thing to release a proper estimate and another to just be pleasing the community. Ok so where did they mess up? Ok so I don't know how the game runs with these specs but what I do know is the specs that they use with and their respective brands. They did pretty good with the minimum requirement on the individual spec side but one thing that irked me was the 6gbs of memory and the overall build. I mean ouch way to punch the low end market right in the neck. I can already tell this game is going to be pretty demanding for both the CPU and the graphics card though so I guess that makes sense. But when you put these specs together into one system you get a pretty decent bottle neck. First of all the FX-4350 runs pretty slow overall sense you know your paying for the price of an AMD 2013 CPU I mean you aren't getting much. The intel CPU the i3 3250 runs pretty well with the 660 ti and little a minuscule bottle neck one of the only up sides to these specs even though it's a duo core. But the graphics card in the minimum are pretty reasonable the 660 ti is a good low end but if you want to run better and have no bottle neck for the AMD side of things you might want a HD 7950 instead. For the recommend specs let's start with the upside the graphics cards they recommend are pretty much toe to toe. You probably want a used 970 for best bang for buck but I won't get into builds here. The ram is good amount I mean anything above 8 gigs is for those multi taskers that like to run two games at once (which is bad for your components if you go to the extreme). And that's the good news. Ok now the gosh darn freaking stupid CPUs for recommended specs. i5 2400 vs Ryzen 5 1600x... what the actual fuck man. I sure hope this was a miscommunication cause if not Destiny 2 is going to run horrible for anything but balls to the wall set ups. Let's get the Ryzen 1600x out of the way it's a pretty great CPU in fact I use it but it's kinda overkill for gaming I mean 6 cores at 3.6ghz-4.0+ghz for gaming is pretty overkill for most games sense they don't use more than duo core rendering if Destiny 2 is going to be 6 or even 4 core rendering then I am hyped af. I think recommended should be a quad core at most so maybe the Ryzen 5 1500x might do just fine. But oh boy do I have a bone to pick with the Intel CPU. The i5-2400 is basically 30% worse than the 1600x and 20% worse than the 1500x. And this is where the nerd comes out... Let's start with what we are comparing here 1500x It has the same amount of cores but twice as many threads It is 32% more power efficient It has a better base clock and turbo clock It has better single core speed Better quad core speed Better multi core capabilities And here's the kicker released in 2017 compared to the i5s 2011 ancient release its lithography at 32nm is 56% worse than 1500x's 14nm I mean wow what a freaking difference. 1600x Don't even bother you know by logic it's even better in every way Bungie freaking compared these two as equivalent CPUs I mean really??? I know it might be better optimized for Intel but a CPUs from 2011 I mean there is no way if they didn't test bottle neck for their specs. I really hope they fix this soon(maybe they have and I have been to busy researching this shit). Let's make it clear that their recommended CPUs are a little messed up and shouldn't be followed with the little information we have on how the game will use the pc hardware and how well optimized it will be. In my opinion based on the minimum requirements and how this game might be a little intense to run I suggest the i7-6700k for best use out of that 970 if you want intel. TL;DR/Conclusion In short take Bungie's specs with a grain of salt as they are unreliable sense if you do some research your self you can see they are a little sketchy. Wait for better specs to be released on battle.net near game release or do a little research your self and look at other people's specs requirements based on the ones we got (a little correction here and there).
