  1. Hello, I am using an Atx motherboard in a Meshify 2 XL case with Seasonic Focus GX 1000. Would I need cable extensions, if so for what and what should I use? Thanks in advance.
  2. Thanks for the detailed build, overall though I am not familiar with those makers, but Dedayog makes a good case for 4080. which I think is what I will roll with, primarily because the connector is so new and still to young to be considered proper for general use. As for the case I too think having a larger one would at least afford the ability to route some cables with less bends.
  3. Hmm, will need to check QVL for the sticks are tested I expect they are RGB. any recommendations for speed + CL combination I should be using? 4080 is a compromise in terms of the frame rates with RT and on pushing a system that would last a longer with a 4090, unless you think it's marginal for the price. Yeah when I made that system I was not flush with cash per se, but it was just before the pandemic so it served me well for the games I did try to play but I am no longer happy with a near 60fps AC Oddesy with compromises at 1440p. Edited the posting to specify.
  4. Budget (including currency): Max (including tax) ~$5000 CAN Country: Ontario, Canada Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: AC Valhala/Unity, Starfield, Path of Exile Other details Current Planned Configuration: https://ca.pcpartpicker.com/list/qck2Fs Peripherals are not required. Upgrading from: https://ca.pcpartpicker.com/list/zK69fH Will be given to another person in full, will be upgraded to windows 11. Resolution and Refresh Goals: as close to 144hz at 1440p where possible at max setting, but no dips below 60 fps in most situation as long as the quality is maxes out. Windows 11. Looking for something long term. Other Notes: I do not plan on overclocking anything, but I do like the extra features on the board. Possible Issues/Questions: - 4090 Power Melting: Should I wait out the generation and try to compromise with a 4080 instead? - Connector angle: Should I spring for a larger form factor case as in the XL version of the Meshify 2, I hear that the angle of the cable is very crucial and Seasonic recommends min 34mm before the bend is introduced after the GPU power connector. Overall not sure that there is enough horizontal clearance (between the power connector and the glass to achieve this) - AM5: I hear it's very particular about ram and speed, the one I am using is on the QVL but that's about it.
  5. Then the existence of what ever that was is throwing me off. However, I think my graphics drivers were up to date, and I still ran it for some reason. Well only one way to frustratingly find out I guess. Worst of all even if I wanted the driver it's gone for that particular model, like the page doesn't exist. Not sure but maybe I backed it up, in the event I did would there be issues in running a driver for windows 10 from around 2019 on a fresh windows 11 install?
  6. Interesting, then why the heck did I end up installing that in the first place then, ugh. Thanks.
  7. Hello there, So back when I bough the monitor and I had to install the Asus WHQL driver to make my display function for a reason that escapes me (maybe it was Gsync). Anyway with a planned upgrade to a new rig do I also now need a new monitor? Or can I use the windows 10 drivers? P.s. there are no windows 11 drivers that I could see on the monitor's support page. Thanks
  8. Well as for AMD chip set drivers I did install them 3 times 2 times using the one I got from AMD website, and the last time (the one I am on now) is using the one posted on Asus's motherboard page.
  9. Yes I have updated my AMD drivers using Asus website, and the drivers for Nividia I did not touch as after I lost them on my system they were reinstalled again.
  10. For reference I have the following system set up: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/xHbJjy Running a 64 bit version of Windows pro. I updated my Bios a couple of days ago from version 0808 to 1405, after doing so my computer did not recognize the video card and windows had installed the drivers for it again for some reason. Now I see that in games such as Dota 2 and Warframe I have a huge stutter every time and again, this was never present in the older BIOS. To put it into perspective, it is as though everything stops for a couple of seconds (more pronounced in Dota 2) and then is back like nothing happened. I have tried to replicate this problem, but it seems to be at total random in game. My trials in running the Heaven Benchmark did cause some substantial drops in frames but not down to zero. This has me worried and I hope some can explain what the problem could possibly be. Thanks
  11. Yeah, took a closer look at some image samples for viewing angles between the two monitors, the LG minor makes me feel like I am passing out because of the black crush at the edge of the screen. I am beginning to think that a VA panel of that size needs to be curved.
  12. Oh yeah, that is quite right, if I sit too close then the pixels would be more obvious. I don't know why I was worked up too much about that, because the image sharpness will matter less the further away from the screen you are. Are you using a VA or an IPS 1080p monitor?
  13. Hey, thanks for the informative reply. Look like I will have to look back at my Acer more closely then and see if I approve of it, for screen sizes. It looks like PPI is logarithmic, so nearly a 16 PPI difference between the monitors may be substantial. Is there anything you like in particular about your LG? (I personally like that there is no black crush and LED bleed) I never used a VA panel, do colour still look crisp on such a large screen?
  14. Although I am a gamer, I do often need to read the text for extensive periods. I have decided to upgrade to a 1440p/144Hz, G-Sync panel moving from an Acer (G247HYL) IPS panel (1080p, 60Hz, 23.8"). I am considering between the LG 32GK850G 31.5" VA panel and the ROG Swift PG279Q 27" IPS panel, both of them are the same prices. My eye position is about 30" away, considering the screen size, would a 31.5" panel make the text too blurry, over a 27" panel overall?
