  1. Okay thanks I'll see what I can do. Appreciate the help!
  2. Okay I'll try that thanks. Could it be possible that my PSU damaged the GPU then? I'm almost tempted to say with how fast the test results from Scan came back (same day it arrived with them) I don't think they actually tested the card. I am most likely wrong and there was an issue which could be why I crash less now I'm on a working GPU.
  3. Yeah I've been suspecting PSU, I started logging with GPU-z but can't see any obvious correlation (to my untrained eye) between power use and the crashes. Super stable gameplay at power draws much higher than other times it crashed. Edit: I've also done a number of RAM scans with the Windows tool during boot and it came up clean every time.
  4. Oh? As far as I was aware this was an RMA. I got an RMA number lol First time was tons of artifacting, this most recent one was sudden GPU driver crashes to black screen while retaining audio (I could still talk on discord for up to a minute sometimes before the full system crash). Scan tested it and just said on the results "card was artifacting" ngl I never had any artifacting on that one, just the crashes. What's worrying me even more is that I'm on my friend's 970 at the moment and although it's not as bad or as often, I do still get the same crashes. I've done a full DDU a couple times now. I'm starting to think I should wipe everything, rebuild and start with a fresh install. Not like I don't have the d/l speeds to get my games again.
  5. Hmm okay, if no one else happens to come along with a solution to do it just with Windows I would do it with : https://www.easeus.com/partition-manager/epm-free.html
  6. Are you not able to right click on the allocated and extend it? Edit: If not you could try EaseUS, that's what I use to manipulate partitions. If someone with more knowledge than me could chime in though because I feel like it should be possible with disk management?
  7. Not good then. This is through Scan, the couple of people I've spoken to said something about "End of Life" and that they straight up can't replace it. They're only giving me the option for a refund and they are currently processing it.
  8. Purchased an RX590 a while back and it had to be RMA'd due to faults. The replacement just recently went wrong again but this time since it's at end of life and they have no replacement (seriously, the gpu market is in the gutter they have nothing on Scan) all they can do is refund me. Yay I guess? So I'm getting ~£150gbp back. Is there anything I can do with that? Seems like stock is non-existent regardless of which gen it is. I know there's not a lot Scan can really do about this but I'm absolutely fuming and upset. I can't afford to put any extra money in for this since I lost my job due to illness and my PC is my only connection to my friends, and recently been learning Blender which has been great in distracting me from life in general. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
  9. Okay thanks guys. Given me some options to think about. Now just gotta wait for next payday to get this sorted.
  10. Hm fair enough. Do I really want ex-mining cards though? lol
  11. If I were to go used what card should I look for? I'm a bit wary of buying used GPUs. Also, any particular reason to get the 1050 over the 1060 3GB?
  12. Hey guys & gals! I've had my system for a while now and my HD7870 is failing. I'm in need of an upgrade/replacement card. My budget is sitting at around £270 (gbp). Was potentially looking at a GTX 1060 3GB but wanted to come here and check first. Below are my current specs, what do you all think? I'm not too fussed whether I'm going AMD or Nvidia, just want the best I can get with my money. As my budget is rather low I doubt I can do other system upgrades as well as get a new GPU (which is a priority as stated above my 7870 is failing)
  13. Okay, thanks. I'll have to have a look. My entire setup needs a bit of tlc to be fair. Using TV's that are 29Hz makes me want to cry. Mouse is this awful freebie that came with my laptop. Man, I need a job.
  14. You can get a 1050ti on scan for about £150. https://www.scan.co.uk/products/gigabyte-geforce-gtx-1050-ti-d5-4gb-gddr5-graphics-card-768-core-1290mhz-gpu-1392mhz-boost
  15. Here are my current specs. The GPU is a HD7870. Would I benefit from a 1050ti? I'm really strapped for cash right now but my GPU is on it's way out.
