  1. For the past month or so I tried accessing my local meteorlogical site but I've been getting ERR_CONNECTION_RESET since. This is all on my home network, using my phone it works completely fine I've tried: -Other browsers and connecting through my phone using my home network -Clearing browser cache and cookies (tho I guess this is pointless) -Changing DNS to 1.1.1.1 and 8.8.8.8 -Turning my router off and on, through the power button and by unplugging -ipconfig and netsh commands I don't have any antivirus (windows defender is disabled) nor proxy Is it possible that my home network is just blocked from the site? or would that give another error? I have a tendency to constantly refresh pages but I don't think it's so much that it looks like a ddos attack It resolved itself right after I posted this oddly enough
  2. I'm interested in purchasing a smartwatch (likely Galaxy Watch5 LTE) but I need to be able to play my own music files (mostly opus with some mp3) on it I've noticed Navmusic mentioned a lot but I want to make sure that I can actually put and play the files on the watch or connect to my server and play from there
  3. I'm buying 2nd hand on eBay and it seems 6th gen onwards Intel mini-ITX mobos are expensive so it ends up being thrice or quadruple the price I heard of the topton board but I can't find it anywhere that isn't in a mini PC
  4. Uses: Google Photos and Drive replacement Plex server (for now I'm only viewing 1080p movies and shows but i'm planning to move to 4K [not remux] eventually) Torrent/Sonarr/Radarr Steam game storage Possibly Home Assistant **** BUILD OS: Either Ubuntu Desktop or Ubuntu LTS MOBO: MSI B85I CPU+iGPU: i5-4430S (although i'm likely to go with i5-4690 or 4690K) RAM: Corsair Vengeance LPX 8 GB DDR3 Storage: Kingston A400 (OS drive), 2x3TB WD Red+ in RAID1 + 1x8TB WD Red+ (this will be used for movies and TV shows so I don't care too much about losing them) Case: Cooler Master Elite 130 PSU: Asus TUF Gaming Bronze 430W
  5. So right now my NAS is running Windows 10 Pro and I have Steam on it store games on it and keep them updated but I was wondering which other OSes can help me keep my game storage updated? So when I need the games I can just copy them over (to a windows 10 pc) and not worry about reinstalling or updating If it matters the other usages for it are: Plex Radarr Sonarr Prowlarr qBittorrent Photo & Files (documents, music etc) usages
  6. So I'm finally upgrading to a fiber connection and would rather get my own than rely on the ISP provided one, problem is i'm not too sure on how to research this. I'm hoping for a router that can last as long as possible (though 1Gbps is probably enough, i'm upgrading to 600/60Mbps) I'll connect it to a NAS Don't know if this matters but the plan is to have a smart home. Currently i'm renting a 75sqm (810sqft) apartment and biggest i'll ever rent is probably 100sqm (1076sqft) I'd like it to overall have good wifi but seems like they'll all be fine?
  7. I don't think that's a router, i'm pretty sure it's an ONT(?) They mention on the site that they'll provide the ONT/gateway (it's just called fiber optic adapter in my language) if i choose to get my own router They can provide a router but the consensus seems to be that it's better to buy your own as ISP routers typically suck
  8. So i'm finally upgrading to fiber and would rather buy my own router than rent one but i'm not too sure on how to research this I'd like it to last as long as possible though I don't think i'll need more than 1Gbps, I'll connect a NAS and am planning to make my apartment smart (if that changes anything). and I'll need good wifi and a minimum of 4 LAN ports
  9. My concern is because the 6700 XT specs page recommends a 650W PSU as minimum but PSU calculating sites say this PC will use around 430W MOBO: Aorus B450M GPU: Sapphire Nitro+ 6700 XT CPU: Ryzen 5 5600 RAM: 2x8GB 3000MHz Storage: Kingston 1TB NVMe + Crucial MX500 1TB
  10. What about between ~$1500-$1900? my friend is apparently buying in a tax free city
  11. Total budget (in local currency) and country of purchase. Please do not use USD unless purchasing in the US: $1450 but if necessary I can go up to $1900 Are you open to refurbs/used? No How would you prioritize form factor (ultrabook, 2-in-1, etc.), build quality, performance, and battery life? Preferably good build quality and battery life As good of a performance I can get for all Adobe apps, clip studio paint, blender (animated and static renders), vscode and godot How important is weight and thinness to you? Doesn't matter Do you have a preferred screen size? If indifferent, put N/A. N/A Are you doing any CAD/video editing/photo editing/gaming? List which programs/games you desire to run. Game development and design, 3D and 2D animation, video and photo editing, composing If you're gaming, do you have certain games you want to play? At what settings and FPS do you want? Not gaming Any specific requirements such as good keyboard, reliable build quality, touch-screen, finger-print reader, optical drive or good input devices (keyboard/touchpad)? Preferably a well lit keyboard
  12. It's purely for storage, since hard drives are faster than my internet I'd rather go that route than reinstalling games and it doesn't recognize the drives there re-add how? re-setup the network share?
  13. So I store my games on a NAS (runs windows 10 pro, also used as a PC) to save storage. Steam saw the NAS before which is how I installed some games using my main PC (though before that it didn't see it either so it seemed random) but now it wont, what should I do? I can access the folders and what not on the NAS just fine and Epic Game Launcher installs games to it fine as well. Is this a me or a steam issue? I tried running as administrator and checking in Library Folders
  14. 14 inches+ Color accurate and at least decently bright screen Thin bezels (similar or close to the newer XPS laptops) Type-C charging If 8GB RAM and/or 256GB SSD, an option to upgrade/add more RAM/storage Programs i'll run on it are Adobe XD, Figma and Lightroom. It will be used as a content consumption machine as well (YouTube and the like) If such a laptop doesn't exist i'm willing to go above $800 but would still prefer it be as close as possible to $800
  15. Aw problem is I also might edit files on it and constantly copy pasting would be annoying. Though there might be software I can find for that Yeah I might eventually just get my friends SSD when he upgrades or i'll wait for a sale and buy a 120GB one, gonna take a while though
  16. Aww can Ubuntu desktop do it? I know HDDs are slow but I want the PC to mainly be used to store files and I'd rarely turn it off and don't want to buy another part The mobo is Gigabyte GA-H61M-S2PV and it was a budget mobo when I bought it so I doubt it has any raid features on it
  17. I got 2 identical 3TB hdds with 1 of them being the boot drive but windows (10 pro) won't let me mirror either
  18. It's my old PCs components (GT730, i3 2120, 4GB RAM) with a WD Red Plus 3TB added to it in this case
  19. The HDD I want is on sale but if I buy 2 of them I'll have to pay import taxes which I'd rather not spend money on, so my idea is to buy 1 now and then wait for another sale to complete the setup. In the meanwhile I'll use old PC components and connect the HDD as well and let my mom use it as her PC until the price drops again. I know NAS drives are basically normal HDDs with some optimization but they're meant to run 24/7 and in RAID so i'm not 100% sure how good this is
  20. Got it, thanks! Does it matter which brand I replace it with or are they all essentially the same? I think I remember on Reddit people hating on Seagate drives and instead recommending WD ones
  21. It's the Google app doing something with call services, I have no idea what though Found 2 others who have this issue and fixed it by uninstalling google updates on the /r/lgv40 subreddit
  22. This has been going for like a week now, when someone tries to call me it says the line is busy (although i'm not in a call) and if I try to call someone it will be stuck at "Dialing". Anybody knows why this is happening and if there's a fix besides just not updating? Since I assume it will force me to update eventually
  23. I tried setting up the other ports to front speaker out but it doesn't seem like any of them recognize the speakers besides where my headphones are plugged in nvm fixed it, thanks!
  24. I just got Creative Pebble Plus but my ATH M40x are already taking the port for it, what do I do?
