  1. Hi guys, so I'll be moving to go to college, far enough away that it would be improbable for me to take my current gaming rig (i7-2600k, 980ti) there, and my parents have convinced (guilt tripped) me to give my sister my old laptop for browsing/surfing the web. I'm looking for a laptop that has pretty good power, as I do some pretty demanding titles such as ARMA 3 and Star Citizen, etc. My major that I will be going into is Computer Engineering, so maybe a bit of CAD too. My plan so far is to basically sell most of my parts, but specifically keep an unused 480gb ssd, and use my 980ti in an external enclosure for my laptop. Basically, I want to know if this is a good idea or not, and if people would instead recommend a gaming PC and a laptop for school instead. Price range is ~$1200, at most $1400. I don't care at all about gaming on the go, and I also plan to take that steal on the Oculus Rift before it ends. Maybe eventually save up for a 1440p monitor. It should also be mentioned that I am in an internship right now, and my company has discounts for laptops with Dell, Lenovo, and HP for a at most 33% discount. Thanks, -Matt *Also, it's super annoying that when I try to edit in the middle of a sentence, the character before it get deleted with each inputted character, like I'm instead inserting the words
