  1. Hey there, I'm going to be upgrading my ram. I'm doing a lot of 3D rendering and maxing out my memory, forcing some renders to remain unfinished. I currently have DDr4 3000Mhz 16gb (2x8gb) and wanted to double that. However, my exact same ram is about $30 more expensive than the 3200Mhz model from the same brand, which is making me consider just buying 32gb of faster RAM and selling my current ones. I'm not certain if an additional 200 clock rate is worth it or not, and I'm also not sure if coupling the 3200mhz one with the one's I have now is reasonable or not, or if they will clash in some sort of way. So my question is. Do you think I should just keep with my current RAM, or should I replace it all?
  2. Hah, that was actually correct. We didn't have it in the wrong side, but the cord wasn't put into the actual headphones properly.
  3. My new computer is up and running with the GA-Z270x-Gaming K5 Motherboard. I have - what i believe to be - all the drivers installed correctly. However, my new headphones (Audio-Technica ATH-M50x Professional Headphones) sound slightly distant and I'm not sure how to fix it. Any suggestions?
  4. I know virtually nothing about drivers, what they do, which ones to get, so on and so forth. But before I get into that, I have no internet connection. Is it required that immediately after you install the Operating System that you connect to the internet with an Ethernet cable? or are you able to use a wifi connection to do so. Personally I'd love to just plug in an Ethernet cable and stick solely with that, however, my wife has OCD and cables (at least in this scenario) are a no go. Is there a way I can connect to the internet for the first time through wifi? If so, I cant find any wifi related functions in the network settings area. Once I do get connected, what drivers should I look for, and what order should I install them in?
  5. I don't believe I currently have anything that the Molex cord would power. The only issue I'm having now is that I forgot I had a case fan that's not plugged in (The H100i V2's two fans connect back to the unit and not into the motherboard). It has 3 pins, but I cant seem to find any fan connectors on the motherboard with 3 pins, all the Sys_Fan connectors on this motherboard (the GA-Z270X-Gaming K5 are 4-pin). Do I still connect that fan to the 4 pin Sys_Fan connector? There's a small bar that ensures it connects to the GND, Voltage speed control, and Sense pins, excluding the PWM speed control pin. Would that be correct?
  6. @seon123 Simple enough. What would the Perif cord be for exactly?
  7. @LeinadTM @Godlygamer23 @COUPER MILLAR @Ayala @Hiya! here are the two i dont have plugged in (CPU and the unknown one). So if im not needing the second VGA cord and the Perif cord I can just remove them from the PSU?
  8. This is my first build and I have - what seems to be - everything connected. The PSU I decided to go with is the EVGA Supernova 650 G@ 80 plus gold. I assume they give you all the cords you need, and more, which means that I probably dont need to use all of them unless I have all the parts for it. Basically I have a few cords here that I'm not sure what to do with. I have one VGA cord, one Perif Cord, a CPU cord that has 8 pins on one side and splits into two other connectors with 8 pins each (this one is particularly short), and another short cord that has no identifying marks on it, only a few inches long, 4 large pins on one side, 4 small pins on the other side, says "DST" on it. I just want to make sure Im not missing anything when i power up for the first time. I can provide photos if needed
  9. Ah ok, not a big issue then. I think i'll swap a few things out for the parts list you've mentioned then. Thanks for the help!
  10. @Lurick It's looking a lot better actually. I understand the budget is tight, but I think your most resent example will work pretty well. isn't 620w overkill for the setup though?
  11. @deXxterlab97 Thanks for the heads up, I'll look into other options that may still be within budget.
  12. @Lurick $400CAD ($350US) with a bit of wiggle room, but that's the goal (already going over it here in Canada)
  13. Hello folks, I'm working on my second pc build ever, this one a budget build. I've done a lot of research, but I'm still always a bit worried when it comes down to compatibility, and if spending a few dollars more would dramatically improve performance. For anyone that's a bit more experienced, I was wondering if you could check over these components for a quick confirmation that I have everything working together. 14. @Atra1n2 Hmm, alright. Well I'll have to look into all this then before making any purchases
