  1. What's the best program or tool that most professionals use to make a web site? I know that a lot of the hosting companies have the DIY build it interfaces, but just curious as to what could give you more control. In the past a long time ago I used Dreamweaver, but not sure how relevant that still is. I know a lot of people use wordpress. Wanted just something like a blog type site with articles, etc.
  2. So I just got the Acer 4k 144hz HDR monitor. For comparison, previously I had the 4k Predator model and the X34 as well. After some use, overall I really like the monitor. With an 8700k 5ghz, and SLI Titan XP, getting as much as 100FPS on ultra settings in Battlefield 1, over 70fps on far cry V, and over 144fps on GTA:V. So overall one can already take advantage of the higher 144hz, and lowering some settings in BF1 got me to almost 144fps. We have to remember it's brand new tech, so there may be some growing pains. As a note to the famous fan video going around, mine is perfectly fine. I have not even noticed it in a quiet room, and if I hadn't seen that video, would not even know there was a fan there. He may just have gotten a faulty fan. 1.) Very nice color, deep blacks, looks good. 2.) Battlefield 1, Far Cry V, look great with HDR. Really bright when it's fire or looking at a light, realistic 3.) 144hz is fantastic. I was tired of screen tearing when going over 60hz in the last 4k monitor. A few things I did not like or need further testing on: 1. )Expensive, even with the tech it's a big jump from the last $700-800 4k monitors 2.) Build quality is great on the stand, but a lot of plastic on the monitor. 3.) Definitely looks bland for an expensive monitor, more of a professional look. The Asus version is a bit more "RGB" if you want that; I would have gotten that but its not available yet. OK, and the last issue, which if anyone else has this or the Asus can see if it happens to them too... Everything looks sharp and great, BUT when I set it to the proper 144hz, text and color are a bit more blurry and seems like something is off. Linus actually mentioned this in his last video on the Asus version, he said over 98hz you lose some of the color, and the text looks "fringy". This is only on windows desktop, in games seems OK. So if anyone has this or any knowledge, I want to figure out if this issue is a normal affect of going to 144hz that every panel will have, or if it's a defect that needs to be switched or fixed. Any settings that may help as well?
  3. Yes that's the problem I seem to have run into - the cards are different sizes so I need a flexible bridge. Are there are any HB flexible bridges with no performance handicap even at high resolutions and frame rates?
  4. Can I technically SLI a 1080ti founders edition, with a 1080ti Asus Strix OC card? Will it work, and physically can the brdige link them or is there differences in size? I am not concerned with "should I", as I realize SLI is not practical and this even less so, just if it's technically possible. I know likely it will run at the clockspeed of the slower card
  5. Still havent figured out why Edge is so unstable, I am using google chrome and its fine -but edge freezes constantly. Multicore off, is it related to the CPU or 3200mhz ram? I did get some stutter before when I ran cinebench, and got a low score, like something was wrong - other attemps were fine.
  6. I did turn off multicore enhancement, but still a bit unstable. Running Trident Z RGB 3200mhz ram. Any other suggestions? If I click on a link to open in edge, it will open like 2 minutes later. I wonder what's going on! What temps are you guys getting on the 8700k and with what cooler?
  7. SO I have an Asus z370 hero, and 8700k. I did not overlock it myself, but I believe Multicore enhancement is set to auto. CPUz tells me the CPU is around 4.7 ghz. It feels a bit unstable, something seems off. First, my temperatures seem high, sometimes going into the 70's and 80's with a H60 Corsair cooler, which would adequately cool the 7800x I had before. Second, some programs seem unstable - especially Microsoft Edge, which crashes and freezes constantly. All updated bios and software, and I did a clean install of windows. Any idea what is going on? Could it be this Multi core enhancement or something else? Geekbench showing around 6000 single core, and 26000 or so multicore score
  8. Here are some numbers I got: with a 1080ti, and stock 7800x vs 8350k overclocked to 5ghz. Rise of Tomb Raider: Very high, FAA on 8350k: 1080p: 140.77 FPS 3440x1440, 98.16 FPS 7800x: 1080p: 139.65 FPS 3440x1440, 98.16 FPS (same result) Witcher 3 High Very High graphics: 8350k: 1080p: Avg: 100.683 3440x1440: Avg: 66.217 7800x: 1080p: Avg: 106.467 3440x1440: Avg: 74.283 Battlefield 1 Ultra 3440x1440 only tested 8350K: Avg: 99.033 7800x: Avg: 109.117 PUBG highest settings only 3440x1440 8350k: Avg: 65.017 7800x: Avg: 61.200
  9. If I could do a few gaming benchmarks between the 7800x and the 8350k would that interest you guys? I have both a 1080ti and 970 cards I can use.
  10. Ha, to be fair I did sell my 7700k, only kept 7800x and 8350k. Will likely sell 7800x and 8350k when I can get a 8700k. The problem with gaming benchmarks is that at 3440x1440p, I am not seeing too much of a difference vs 7700k or 7800x. Maybe a few FPS overclocked, but not much. I think you'd need 1080p to really see it.
  11. I consider myself an enthusiast and switch my pc parts out constantly - so the quirks and issues with Intel's strategy don't have as much of an effect on me. I had a 7700k with z270e Strix board - and then out of curiosity switched to a 7800x with a Aorus 3 x299 board, and while I have kept that, my plan was to build a gaming system with the 8700k and Z370e Asus Strix board. Unfortunately the 8700k is not really available yet, but I did manage to pick up a 8350k for me to play around with while stocks improve. I also game with a 1080ti with 3440x1440 x34, so CPU isn't as big a deal for me gaming wise. First, the 7800x. It's a good CPU, priced around $350 from some places now, but I know the x299 gets a bad rep. It's really not bad, but imo the 8700k beats it. As for the 8350k, I am really impressed with this CPU so far. Geekbench was giving me single core around 5k, and after I overclocked it to a stable 5.1ghz using just a h60 cooler, I am getting around 5600 single on geekbench, and around 16k multicore. Cinebench was in the 800's, so that is a little lower than 7700k. That's really impressive for an i3! That's almost 7700k range, matching it in the single core score. It overclocks really well too. In games it seems to run just as good as my 7700k or 7800x, but then again I am at 3440x1440 with a 1080ti so the CPU isn't really much of a bottleneck. It's definitely being used more and closer to 100% vs the 7800x, though.
  12. What about the ring vs mesh architecture differences between z270 and x299? Even if the 7800x is not going to bottleneck anything, does it being mesh affect gaming performance at all during 1440, ultra wide, etc - with a 1080ti?
  13. I think to be fair that was a very early review on a specific motherboard, when the chipset first came out it had a couple of known issues especially with SLI not even working, so most likely those numbers may be different after bios updates now.
  14. I was thinking of possibly the 8700k if that will give me any gaming benefit at all vs 7800x at 3440x1440
