  1. OK, so I have jumped it to 4.2 GHz just to see. Is there a better tool than Speccy to check temps? I am currently seeing it around 61 degrees so far but haven't put any games through it yet. For fan upgrades I was looking at the following:
  2. Hi all, I have recently upgraded to a new gaming PC and currently looking at ways to utilise my old PC. I still think it's a pretty solid spec machine (as follows): CPU: Intel Core i5 2500K @ 3.30GHz Sandy Bridge CPU Cooler: Intel Stock Cooler RAM: 16GB Dual-Channel DDR3 (9-9-9-24) Motherboard: Gigabyte P67A-UD3P-B3 (Socket 1155) GPU: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1660 SUPER (Gigabyte) - Note: This was a new card after my 980Ti blew up. SSD: Samsung SSD 860 PRO 512GB PSU: Corsair VS650 650 W My thoughts currently are: CPU cooler upgrade from stock? Move to Gigabyte Z77 DS3H? I have never really overclocking before because, well, I've never felt the need. I thought it would be cool to explore and mess about with my old machine to see if I could get a bit more out of it. I'm not naive to the fact it won't be spectacular, but something would be cool. I think streaming will be out the picture as my 2500K doesn't have HyperThreading. Improve playing games on this would be good to give to a family member. Look forward to your help, ideas or tips. Thanks
  3. I hadn't planned to sell it and if I could reuse parts then I would definitely like to
  4. I think that depends on what you want from it, much like a PC. In my opinion there are 3 ranges. Entry <500 - Logitech G29 wheel & pedals Mid <1000 - Most Fanatec products High >1000 - OSW wheel & Heusinkveld pedals Hope that helps a little
  5. Hi all, After 8-9 years my PC is giving up on me. I made some upgrades along the way, but this is what I am going to be departing from: Intel Core i5 2500K Unlocked Gigabyte GA-P67A-UD3P-B3 Crucial Ballistix 16GB Kit Sport XT 8GB x2 DDR3 1600 MHz PC3-12800 Memory ASUS NVIDIA GeForce GTX 980 Ti (6144 MB) (STRIXGTX980TIDC36GD5) 500W Corsair CMPSU-500CXUK Builder 250GB Samsung 840 SSD Antec 100 One Hundred, Black Midi New PC use case I am a Sim Racer therefore I would ideally like something that could support the following: Triple monitor setup (144Hz) Low latency Low input lag Capable of streaming but not a necessity Video creation but not a necessity Budget: ~£1k ($1300 USD / $1729 CAD) ideally (PC only) Beyond Sim Racing I am unlikely to play too many other games, maybe Guild Wars or SWTOR. Any triple screen monitor recommendations (144Hz) are welcome. Appreciate the feedback on helping me build a new rig. Thanks
  6. GTX 1080: £569.99 GTX 1070: £469.99 GTX 980Ti: £430.00 (from new)
  7. In terms of GPU are there particular brands to go with? What would be a good CPU cooler to go for to Overclock also? I was reading this to Overclock: https://www.bit-tech.net/reviews/tech/cpus/how-to-overclock-the-intel-core-i5-2500k/1/
  8. My monitor is 144Hz. I've actually just upped cause I never noticed it was on 60Hz
  9. Ryzen the way to go atm?
  10. Antec 100 One Hundred, Black Midi 750W ANTEC TRUEPOWER NEW PSU I could do with more Storage - yes. WD Blue 1TB?
  11. Hi all, I am looking to upgrade my machine or even go brand new. Below is my current spec: https://i.gyazo.com/0c2aa34a6701817017bcc1388c636a05.png My budget is around £1000. I am a Sim Racer and gamer in general so that will be my main operation. I do small graphics and video work but primarily gaming and Sim Racing. I have never Overclocked before, there do not know if that would be an option? What would people recommend for this type of setup? Many thanks
