  1. I even looked on the website. I'm not sure how I missed that, but thanks
  2. Hello! I have recently built a new Ryzen 7 2700X system and was wondering what the maximum safe temperature is, as I cannot seem to find it anywhere. I'm guessing it's probably 95 degrees like the 1800X, but I'd just like to be sure. Thanks
  3. Regarding the fans, I plugged in the SATA cable and, when I turned the new system on, it was fine except for the fact that the front fan was not spinning. I'm guessing this has to do with that extra connector.
  4. They may not have any for those, I'm not sure. I found this, but I doubt this is going to be helpful, since it seems to have already released as a stable version: https://ubuntu-mate.org/blog/ubuntu-mate-bionic-beta1/ Sorry I couldn't be of more help.
  5. Looks like a great build, but, as said above, a different 1080 can be found significantly less expensive. Everything else looks like you did your research and picked good parts
  6. I have a Raspberry Pi 3 B+ and, while I wasn't trying to get those specific operating systems to work, I did do some other projects and with most of them, I had to download a beta version that was compatible with the 3 B+. That was right after it released, though, so I have found that, for the most part, things are optimized decently well for it. But, it is definitely a possibility, especially if you are working on projects that have a larger user base using different hardware other than a Raspberry Pi.
  7. Hello! I'm building in the BeQuiet Pure Base 600 case. The user manual is not very helpful when it comes to the fan speed controller. If any of you know where to plug in the two cables, please let me know. One of the two cables is a SATA cable, so I plugged that in, but the other is some sort of a 2-pin connector. The diagram shows to plug it into something, but it doesn't say what or where. Any help would be greatly appreciated Thanks! I'm guessing all fan speed controllers are the same or at least similar, so even if you don't have this case, you may still be of help! I have never built in a case with fan controllers before.
  8. Thanks! While I haven't preordered yet, I'm thinking about preordering the new 2700X with a Gigabyte X470 Motherboard. Since it includes a stock cooler and people seem to really like the Ryzen stock coolers, I am planning on just using it, since from what I've heard, it's a relatively quiet option.
  9. Thanks I never thought those were built to be quiet, but I can always be surprised.
  10. Thanks for your help I'll probably go for the dongle.
  11. Thanks I was wondering if it is relatively simple to deactivate an activation license if needed so you can move to another computer.
  12. Hello! I have been using Adobe Premiere Pro for my editing needs for several years. I was looking into Davinci Resolve and the free version seems really nice and I am considering changing my primary editing program over to it. I do, however, need support for 4K and think that the additional features would be awesome as well. That said, I would be purchasing the studio version. What's the difference between the dongle and the activation key? Are there any benefits to one versus the other? Thanks! P.S. I haven't used Resolve for very long (only about 2 days, since I downloaded it after 15 came out), so I'm not sure if it would really benefit me. Does anybody who have used both Premiere and Resolve have a preference? In case this makes a difference, I would still keep the Adobe Creative Cloud subscription, so buying Resolve would not remove my Adobe CC subscription.
  13. Thanks! If it does well at cooling and stays quiet, I would be very much interested
  14. Thanks I was just making sure. I didn't want to buy tall RAM, find out it doesn't fit, then have to return it and order a different kind.
  15. That looks quite good. I must have missed that Patriot RAM when I was doing it. The HDD definitely lowers the cost, but I feel that unless someone is doing a super budget build, you should always go with an SSD, even if it's small. Nice choices, though
