ok but it does not explain why 2 devices at same range have a masive difference in speed And why, to the same modem/router 2.4Gh can't reach 50 Mbps when at least it shoud give 100 Mbps
-
Bandwith 50 Mbps The bundled is a: Technicolor DPC3848VE DOCSIS 3.0 GatewayDPC3848VE I think it is 802.11n and ac? CAT5e modem to tp-link 10 meters (32ft.) rest of the divices 2 meter (less than a 6 ft.)

Hi all, I'm having a weird issue with a TP-Link TL-WR941HP. For some reason I only get 3 Mbps on my desktop via Wi-Fi on other devices (cellphone). And also only 24 Mbps on all the 2.4 ghz of all my house On the company router/modem on 5.8GHz I get 50 Mbps Also if someone watches Netflix (1080p) my ping goes to 4000ms to my TP-link and some times 800ms to 8.8.8.8 Graph:

Hi All, I don't know why I can't see my SMB share from my gaming rig, maybe someone can tell me why and if I can solve it. The "Network": An ESXi running: unRAID ("NAS") SMB share Windows 10 (MARK2) Gaming PC (PC-NACHO) So from the virtualized W10(MARK2) I can see all the network, but grom my gaming pc (PC-NACHO) I can only see myself and (MARK2) I can access from \\NAS and \\IP from both PC's From virtualized Windows 10 aka MARK2: From Gaming PC aka PC-NACHO: Any clue?

Where I work we use ESXi and I am familiar with the vm administration ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Is there any disadvantage for doing it "nested"? How about now? Hi All, I am building my first Server/NAS, and would like some advice. This is the idia: PCPartPicker part list: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/VTnv4q Price breakdown by merchant: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/VTnv4q/by_merchant/ CPU: Intel - Core i5-8400 2.8GHz 6-Core Processor ($178.99 @ Amazon) Motherboard: Asus - ROG Strix H370-I Gaming Mini ITX LGA1151 Motherboard ($132.08 @ Amazon) Memory: Kingston - HyperX Fury Black 4GB (1 x 4GB) DDR4-2133 Memory ($55.00 @ Amazon) Memory: Kingston - HyperX Fury Black 8GB (1 x 8GB) DDR4-2133 Memory ($109.79 @ OutletPC) Storage: SanDisk - SSD PLUS 240GB 2.5" Solid State Drive ($68.99 @ Amazon) Storage: SanDisk - SSD PLUS 240GB 2.5" Solid State Drive ($68.99 @ Amazon) Storage: Western Digital - Red 2TB 3.5" 5400RPM Internal Hard Drive ($78.89 @ Newegg Marketplace) Storage: Western Digital - Red 2TB 3.5" 5400RPM Internal Hard Drive ($78.89 @ Newegg Marketplace) Case: Phanteks - ENTHOO EVOLV SHIFT X Mini ITX Tower Case ($146.98 @ Newegg) Power Supply: Corsair - CXM 550W 80+ Bronze Certified Semi-Modular ATX Power Supply ($59.99 @ Amazon) Total: $978.59 Prices include shipping, taxes, and discounts when available Generated by PCPartPicker 2018-06-12 23:30 EDT-0400 I really felt in love with that case, I don't know if someone knows a similar one that suports mATX or ATX but still small. But that is the idea, make a compact server (SFF). Small as possible, at least 2 3.5" and 2 2.5" slots. Pretending to run a ESXI 6.7 as base OS with: unRAID: NAS and media server (transmission, Plex and couchpotato) Windows 10 PC And 2 lab pc's Note: maybe it is too overkill or poor. I don't know. Note: Where I live there is no much offer of server grade hardware, thats why every thing is ""gaming hardware" Hope you guys can give me a hand. Thanks very much.

Yes I'm going to look in to it, thanks!

Hi All, I want to build a personal server but I dont know which type of mother, CPU and amount of RAM would be enough. I want to clear out that I live in Argentina and here we only have acces to common and gaming hardware. (so no server grade hardware available) The idea is to run a ESXi 6.7 as base OS and create 5 VM. FreeNAS 11 Windows 10 Linux (Ubuntu probably) Testing (diferent OS testing) Testing (diferent OS testing) RAM: I think 32 GB would be enough (I know I can use less RAM if I delete 2 VM, but I want the CPU and Mother to be future prepeared.) CPU: I thought a Core i3 or i5 (the idea is to make a cheap server, if possible). Mother: No f**king clue. Right now I am running a FreeNAS 9.10 in a HP Precision M4600, it is a notebook (HERE) CPU: Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-2540M CPU @ 2.60GHz RAM: 8GB And runs a SMB file system, a PLEX media server and Trasnmission.

Hi All, I need some advice with a Intel i5 7600k cooling. Long short, I bought a Corsair H100i v2 used, and the pump in not working. I'm going to buy (2 january 2018) a NZXT Kraken x52 or x62. Meanwhile I want to use de pc whit a stock Intel cooler that I found. Is that possible? Can I game on it? Or only for OS instaltion, drivers and some web browsing? Specificaly I want to play Destiny 2 at high and 1080p. Any advice? Can I limit the speed of the clock to avoid overheat? (How? BIOS or Windows Software?) My setup: Intel i5 7600k (no cooler duh hahahha) Asus Strix Z270 F Asus Strix NVIDIA GTX 1070 8GB RAM 16 GB Corsair LPX DDR4 SanDisk SSD Plus 480GB Western Digital 1TB EVGA 650 GQ Case NZXT S340

You mean more tan 2TB or more tan 2 drives?? Here there is a difference of only 30% from 1TB($93.75) to 2TB($ 125) but at 2TB and above here it cost 62.50 U$D each TB in WD Red. WD Blue are cheaper, 1TB($62.50), 2TB($100), 3TB($140.62). No intermediate sizes are available here.
-
Yhea, way cheaper 50% less, But can really handle that kind of work?? Can't afford 3 drives, maybe 2 if a use the G4560.
-
Yes it is all in h264, well almost. 3 user max. Don't know how much trasncoding is going to require. I got a couple of formats, FLV, MP4, MKV. Mostly half mp4 and the other half mkv.

Hi All, I want to build a NAS, where I live things are expensive so basically this build is the cheapest thing I could build. Intel Core i3 7100 $ 162.50 Mother Gigabyte Ga-h110n $ 100.00 Memory Corsair DDR4 8gb 2400mhz Vengeance Lpx $ 87.50 Western Digital 2tb Red $ 125.00 Case Raidmax Element Black Mini Itx $ 50.00 PSU Corsair VS 450w $ 62.50 Cooler Corsair Air Af120 x2 $ 50.00 Total $ 637.50 U$D Argentina prices ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ Also, previous generation stuff has same price as new generation parts. That's the reason i picked 7xxx and DDR4. The idea is to run FreeNAS and use to store personal data and as a Plex Media Server. And maybe in the future, personal cloud and a second 2TB WD Red. 2 or 3 video simultaneously on cellphones and the movies are will be stored 1080p <<< I don't know if you guys needed this data, but well here it is. Can it handle that workload? If the question is too stupid, sorry I never builded something like that. Also I do not know how to measure CPU capabilities, yet. In case you guys say the RAM is short I would like to know WHY!? Because I ran a couple of test with VirtualBox with 4GB and I saw no problem at all and all over the internet people are saying 16, 32, 64GB.

Great thanks!!! Know I'm going to redo the math.
