  1. Trying to make the bootable installer through windows. I managed to change the date/time and I cleared the NVRAM but still struggling
  2. yeah this is probably my next way to do it. really struggling with this haha
  3. dont have access to another mac. last time i tried to use a mac in vm i couldn't get the usb passthrough to work
  4. Finally got my 2009 macbook running and I can't get a clean install through the built in recovery as it gives me the "This item is temporarily unavailable" message so I've tried downloading a .dmg image and using transmac to create a bootable usb and its not being recognised in the boot menu. Bit stuck with this and need some help, cheers
  5. Ah well I'll guess I'll just hope for the best haha. Sucks I just got the thing too
  6. Will start with a new charger I think. Wondering if there is anyway to see whether the green light will come on the charger without plugging it in like shorting it out with paperclip or something
  7. Yeah, know the battery is crap so not sure whether its just not charging or the system is dead
  8. Hello all, just bought a 2009 macbook a1181 off eBay, came today and had it on for a few minutes trying to get into recovery to reset the OS. First time I tried the charging cable fell out and the laptop turned off due to the battery being very very old. Reconnected power, turned it on, booted into recovery again. Set the laptop down so there was no chance of the cable falling out. Loading into the recovery and the laptop turned off and the green charging indicator turned off. Can't get the charger light to come on anymore so I'd assume the charger is knackered but wonder if there is a chance there could be any other damage to the rest of the system? Cheers all
  9. Fractal Design Define S is pretty good, its a Define R5 without the optical drives and some other features
  10. Can you hackintosh with skylake? I thought you couldn't yet because of apple not releasing skylake macbooks/imacs
  11. In the monitor settings there is a drop down box to change the refresh rate, make sure it is selected as 144hz not 60
  12. I've ran a Firestrike benchmark and I was getting 34degrees max temps. I've got a 6600k and a H110i GT. Is it just a faulty cpu? or is there something wrong with something else? Thanks Edit: I should also mention that my idle temps are about 18 degrees
  13. I'm really not sure of my room temp, I was just going off average. Maybe my room is just really god damn cold.
