  1. I feel for the poor guy who eventually has to replace one of the middle switches in the middle of the spaghetti.
  2. Yeah the impossibility of finding a Pi at MSRP led me to the RockPro64 which was actually a far superior option for me since it was quite powerful and the PCI-E 4x slot meant I could make a NAS without having to mess around with dongles or GPIO. I ended up buying another for a proxmox system running various servers including an openwrt router. It's a bit more pricier and the PCI-E is a little finicky but it's about as best you can get with an SBC before you get to NUCs and thin clients. Just wish they released an updated version with more modern hardware, IO and a non finicky PCI-E solution. There are a lot of Pi alternatives out there with their positives and downsides that people need to know before buying a scalped raspberry pi 3 for 4x MSRP.
  3. can attest to #3 as a network technician. You can't find a wireless map that is similar to another in a different house/room. an AP that someone may think as garbage because their mounting area has fluorescent lightbulbs and bookshelves separating the room could be the best wireless connection someone else has ever had. Same goes for wireless cards.
  4. Think it's just so they don't get inundated with new users. If they wanted to astroturf, this forum would be shut down or filled with only positive comments circle jerking.
  5. Server: Debian server Stable and barebones which is needed for maximum performance on my RockPro64. Personal: AlmaLinux Took a class that exclusively used AlmaLinux and taught me RHEL so it's only natural that I dualboot this.
  6. Forgot to clarify but been doing that after I reseated the RAM and figured out this wasn't going to be a simple fix.
  7. Used the BIOS flashback feature per the manual. It ran fine and I managed to update the BIOS without CPU or RAM installed. Didn't fix it, though this time at least I know that the motherboard is at least partially functional. Also cleared CMOS again, same result.
  8. Minecraft servers aren't really performance intensive IF you run unmodified/lightly modded and pre-generate chunks. I managed to get a 24/7 minecraft server working with a RockPro64 4GB model that runs at a stable 20 TPS with 11 players online. I'd recommend you get a decent SSD for the server since your CPU is already good enough. RAM shouldn't be an issue at 4GB as long as you have around 10 or so people. More than that and I'd recommend 6-8GB. Java is a language that fills up its available memory before running garbage collection cycles so don't worry about it hitting its max. More memory = less GC cycles = better performance. This is also a good guide should you want to run it even more efficiently. https://github.com/YouHaveTrouble/minecraft-optimization
  9. CPU is listed as supported for the motherboard but will update BIOS.
  10. CPU: AMD Ryzen 7800x3d Mobo:ASRock X670E PG RAM: Patriot Viper Venom DDR5 16GB (2x8gb) GPU: Used RX 6800 PSU: Corsair RMe 650w Motherboard fails to POST with CPU + DRAM light. Case fans didn't spin either, though I managed to get them to spin by reseating all power cables: Here's what I have tried: Waiting 20 minutes should it be DDR5 training (manual states around 2 minutes for my RAM configuration) Changing PSU cables around, ensuring not to mix between brands Reseating RAM Switching RAM modules and removing one, assuring its in the correct position per manual Removed CMOS battery for 15 minutes and put back in - This actually blinked the lights a bit but remained the same after subsequent boot attempts. I think it was attempting to train for DDR5 but was unable to Changing PSU to a borrowed working Seasonic PRIME Titaniam 750w Reseating CPU Removing GPU Pressing the BIOS flashback button I think am out of options as I don't have a spare AM5 motherboard lying around nor anything that is compatible with DDR5 to continue troubleshooting. Not sure if its CPU,DRAM or motherboard for sure so for now I am just gonna start RMAing stuff starting with the motherboard.
  11. I wonder if Elon actually bought twitter to destroy it so people would use FOSS alternatives because there are so many people migrating to them.
  12. A good option for security would be getting a PFsense box or making your own. For me, I made my own using a Rockpro64 with a NIC card running OpenWRT. It offers pretty nice security, easy to use, and I can get full packet inspection using snort, though at a cost of speed.
  13. Ended up returning it to the store and getting my money back. Going used like I should have done in the first place.
  14. Getting similar issues with my 7600 aswell despite wiping my old nvidia drivers with DDU and reinstalling AMD drivers multiple times with DDU. Except this time it is extremely unstable. Sometimes I'd boot up and run games for hours just fine. Some games would straight up instantly crash the driver or would crash it as soon as you loaded in. Youtube videos would often turn into a mess of artifacts and would constantly hang the system. Windows would often replace the driver with it's own generic driver which is incapable of any 3d rendering- forcing a restart if you want to play games( this would also crash Adrenaline). Sometimes I would get softlocked out of my computer because the driver dies on the login screen and not even force refreshing it with ctrl + win + shift +b works.
