  1. Here is one for you... You save $40 + an extra rebate of $20 to be saved! https://www.amazon.com/23-inch-Wide-Screen-VX238H-Response-Speakers/dp/B00ANKMNXO/ref=sr_1_3?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1497562015&sr=1-3&keywords=gaming+monitor&refinements=p_36%3A1253506011#Ask 24" version also had the rebate. 2. I have actually been tracking monitor trends lately. I can give you a few good options, but it depends on your use...You opted for the 8 cores so i assume that you are going to be doing some content creation, and obviously some gaming too. Keeping that in mind i dont think you want anything under 1080p. For gaming you will want fast response time. Gaming: This one is 1ms response time for the quickest latency. It also is on sale for $30 of...You can also send in a $20 rebate for to save a total of $50: https://www.amazon.com/23-inch-Wide-Screen-VX238H-Response-Speakers/dp/B00ANKMNXO/ref=sr_1_3?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1497562015&sr=1-3&keywords=gaming+monitor&refinements=p_36%3A1253506011#Ask This one is a classing gamer computer that is a little out of date, but it has a little higher refresh rate of 75hz, if you want a more smooth image, but lacks in the response time...5ms. one of these could be found used for cheap(wouldnt recomend buying this one new. just because it is dated.) https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16824236117 wish you the best of luck! -Slade
  3. Its a tough one... They both seem very quality, but each have odd market issues. Lg being sold out or on back order everywhere, and overpriced wherever its not. The Asus Designo series has great reviews across the board when looking at the 1440 and under resolution. Designo 4k reviews are nonexistent...This leaves a feeling in my gut with both of them in my shopping cart and trying to find out which one to delete...
  4. Have you connected your hdmi to the Motherboard or the Gpu? I once had this same issue with a friends Asus VH238H. We just changed it back to the gpu, and did a complete system restart. I dont know why it happened or why it worked...Hope this Helps.
  5. Hey Everyone, My question stems from a need(WANT) to upgrade to 4k. I primarily use my computer for gaming, editing photo, and video. My video and photo editing are from a 4k camera and would love to edit raw in its native resolution for the best experience. I have done extensive research on these two monitors, and due to the rise in popularity of the LG ud88 there seem to be a minimal amount of inventory on the market. This has caused a major price gouge on most sites. So this is where the Asus MX27UC comes into play...They seem pretty comparable in most aspects besides physical adjustment, appearance, and Price. I have come to the Linus Tech Tips community to ask for some opinion and personal experience with these two monitors. The Asus Designo series is confusing to me because they don't seem to have a clear target market, that i can find, so its hard to know if they are actually as similar as the specs make them seem. Please help. Thank you for your time.
